Special parts of Dynamite-tracks
Hi,
High Times gave me the advice to start a topic about all the special parts on the album. Which parts of the tracks do you love? What kind of feeling do you have when you hear some parts? Where does it remind you of?
To make a start, I've chosen a few of my own:
Pay attention to:
Dynamite
3:37-4:00 Great singing Jay
Starchild
4:51 High singing Jay
Love Blind
2:53 After the break, there's something different, do you notice? I love this part
(Don't) Give Hate A Chance
3:00-3:15 Reminds me of Titan played on the past tour
3:15-3:43 Yes! Thanks to High Times!
Time Won't Wait (Funky funky track...)
3:05-3:20 So funky!
3:20-3:50 Difference in singing the chorus, gives me that live-feeling.
4:20-4:44 Great ending...

Hi Jeroen!!!!!
lets start!!!
each Jamiroquai album is my favourite album, but this one is genious in very special way ,
because its revolutionary in world of music.... it will be hard to make a new album after such genious, succesful, strong and beautiful DYNAMITE.....
Jay showed new fantastic colors and flavours of his talent, i will buy as many vynil Dynamite LPs as i will be able to.
this is recorded with new studio standards,
so this time you'll need big powerful amplifier and huge speakers, its Dynamite!!!!
as i said i love all entire album, its all perfect , each part of it,
they all make me feel i can fly.
If saying things like: "what a fantastic chorus!!!" or "what a cool verse" dont count (its obvious all verses and choruses are superbrilliant!!!),
i will .........i'll tell you about my magic moments !!
one of my favourite pics of JAY
my magic moments are:
FEELS JUST LIKE IT SHOULD:
from 3:18 Jay makes fantastic voice sounds i fell in love with!!!
only genious crazy singer like JK can invent such tricks!!!
DYNAMITE:
the best song ,
no point to discuss!!!!! every second is shocking.
the most catchy, infectious, song in the world. has huge hidden super disco power which moves you whether you want or not, growing on listener with every day. Soon this masterpiece track will make me completely crazy!!!! I just cant stop listening to it!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have to say.....from 2:43 when Jay sings :
"You know baby,
You've got that dynamite , baby
I want your dynamite, baby........."
i begin to smile as a crazy happy fool.
SEVEN DAYS IN SUNNY JUNE:
Nothing compares.
from 2:53 - jay's brilliant vocal improvisations
We had a second ........... thing to show you
Gotta get in
For seven days in june I wasnt lonely
Gotta get in
You never gave me time to say I love you
Gotta get in
I know you don't believe me but it's so true
Don't walk away from me girl
I read the stories in your eyes ...........................
ELECTRIC MISTRESS:
A cool, fantastic song, very fashionable.
i imagine girls in versache clothes on fashion tv walking
with this great track sounding!
has amazing house synth bass and live bass slap samples.
from 1:35 -i love instruments combination in this place
STARCHILD:
the best song.
no point to discuss!!!!! every second is shocking.
i would only say its THE BEST SONG Jay has written and
that it has Hohner clavinet, which Matt plays
as good as Toby and Toby plays Hohner clavinet even better than Stevie Wonder.
LOVEBLIND:
"beautiful surprise" song of Dynamite - a masterpiece
which is new level in songwriting... It has oldschool wurlie piano in
verse, places like from 0:42 are very emotional and i feel
this melody with my heart!!!
they use scratches again !!! wow thats what i love!!!!!
TALULAH:
the best song ,
no point to discuss!!!!! every second is shocking.
its better than any other jamiroquai ballad.
nothing in the world can be better than this beautiful melody.
think about it ....one song conveys beautiful feelings love gives us better
than watching good sentimental old italian or french movie about love!!!
its better than any other love song in the world.
it gives me very deep feeling...
JAY KAY is the best composer of XXI century.
DONT GIVE HATE A CHANCE:
the best track also.
from 3:00 perfect funk starts - i am flying higher than a highest mountain!!
there are 2 basses - synth and live play single funkiest note on earth.
from 3:07 synth bass disappears and theres only live bass.
feelings are unreal.
from 3:15 and further i feel flying faster - WITH THE SPEED OF SOUND!
Jamiroquai invented this outstaning method on live version of Everybody's Going To The Moon
(Titan)
and developed it into their brand funk super method on A FUNK ODYSSEY
in love foolosophy( from 2:14 ), you give me something.
WORLD THAT HE WANTS:
what a beautiful ballad... very emotional, i love it so much.
could be one of the best Elton John's songs.
BLACK DEVIL CAR:
the best song too.
fantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastic track.
best rock song i've heard in my life.
as a big beatles fan i tell you it reminds beatles songwriting style.
Paul McCartney's to be more precise. i've made a thread about it
check it: http://www.jamirotalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3063&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
HOT TEQUILA BROWN:
great rastafarian style track .. could be Bob Marley song!
i love it!! has a VERY serious message!!!
TIME WONT WAIT:
for those who missed oldschool jamiroquai style,
very cool LIVE funk style which they didnt play since synkronized...
Cool, cool, cool!!!
melody has fantastic moments like one from 1:02..
that's all...
thank you JAY, ROB, DERRICK, MATT, SOLA and COOL BASSISTS. |

Yes I noticed that, but I think it's not what I meant. After the break the song is somehow more powerful than before. Still haven't found out why.
High Times! What a great effort you did. Fantastic to read all this. Thanks. And I agree Dynamite is the best song of the album...and Starchild, and Talulah, and (Don't) Give Hate A Chance, and Time Won't Wait, and...
Ok, another magic (or should I say strange) moment in FJLIS:
2:27 What's happening here? |

i thought theres a little piece of vocal line being cut off , right....?
i think it was done to add a special spice to the beat as hip hoppers do,
which also do such tricks when they use explicit lyrics.

the voices on the back on dynamite make the listening of the song like if you were in a party, this may be the secret power it haves (high times?) you can hear laughs and people talking on the back in lot of parts of this track, and i think is great, the girl laughing is cool, and at the end there are some backing vocals in the same volume as this things, so low. _________________

To read your messages and realize that those guys are able to make you so much happy with their music brings a five mile smile to my face!
I feel similar but I could never express myself like you do! I enjoy it more silently, but it's just great to see you high of music.

Turn your speakers on (or headphones) and play Dynamite, Strachild and (D)GHAC with full bass. I just did (sorry to my neighbours) and it's even more powerful.
Btw, I can't remember I put this topic in this section Maybe it's better to transfer to Jamiroquai's music? |

good idea mate!!!
i already tried it!!!
i have huge powerfull speakers about 1,2 m in height
and my big amplifier has 12 degrees of bass.
it plays killing and punchy even when its 4 degrees of bass.
i tried 12 degrees several times, but its too much.
i play dynamite on 10, it ruins walls all around but i
enjoy every second of this strong bass sound.
i always listen to new album like that - 10 degrees of bass
and less often - 8 degrees . |
