What are your thoughts on the setlists so far
I wanted to first point out that I live in the United States and I am a huge Jamiroquai fan. I know I do not post that much but I just wanted to ask all of your opinions on something. I seem to notice that on this tour that the setlist does not vary that much and the shows also used to contain a lot more songs. I think the first shows had about 18 songs and now there are 14 or 15. I love it when bands have a different setlists every night, especially bands that have been around a while. It shows that on any given night you can hear anything. I remember the one concert he asked " do you wanna hear high times or mr. moon?", that was cool. Does anyone else wish sometimes they would vary it up a bit. We never hear certain songs anymore that I am sure we would all love to hear. The same songs always start the show and the same songs always end the show. I also dont believe its a factor of production because bands with may more show production show more creativity with their setlists. This is by no means a knock on how good the band is or how good the shows are. I just wondered what songs you guys wish they would begin to play more and if you feel the same way. It is a great feeling knowing that every show you go to you might hear something different. I miss the days of the dj spins and the brass, maybe they just cant rearrange the songs. My opinion, open with Deeper Underground to change it up, play songs like Just Another Story, Shoot the Moon, When You Gonna Learn, Too Young to Die. My opinion, dont play a 12 minute version of Alright. Play 3 songs instead of one.

Yeah I got freebees to both NYC shows and the LA show. Working in the business I guess there is some cool perks. Yeah I mean I just see the setlists, and its the exact same and less songs. I love music of all types and Ive seen Nine Inch Nails 4 times this tour. They are nuts, so pysically demanding, such a stage show with timed lights and everything, and they switch up things almost every night. Dave Mathews rarely plays a song on back to back nights. I know they are not the same as Jamiroquai, but I believe after 10+ years and the calibur of musicianship that they should be able to play anything. I wish they would go, oh lets play Half the Man, Blow Your Mind, Planet Home this show or whatever. Or maybe my opinions differ than most. Maybe people like regularity.

Yeah it sucks that it's streamlined like that. I agree totally. I've seen DMB twice, and they played their hit songs both times. But not in the same order, and in a different order and with different songs both times.

Example. I saw them at Mile High Stadium in Denver in July 2000. Their opening song was a 20 minute version of "Seek Up". When I saw them in Minneapolis in December 200, they did not even play "Seek Up".

Did you not see the setlist for the Birmingham gig last month? 19 songs including the encore. OK they did a couple less for the following nights on the UK tour, but it was still more than 14 or 15. And they've been switching over at least two or three songs from night to night throughout this summer. As for 'play three songs instead of one', I'd much rather see one or two FEWER songs, and a bit more room in the setlist for some improvisation on the instrumentalists' part. I mean, you complain that all the versions sound the same now, but also want them to make the songs short so they can fit more in... you can't have it both ways (unless you want them to play 3 or 4 hour sets, which would wear the band out)...

Yes Birmingham was longer. Yes they were 14 or 15 check out the last setlists. When people post setlists, I dont count that dragon song as part of the list, or one minute of stop dont panic. And I happen to like the new versions of some of the songs. I dont believe I said anything bad about the versions, if I did, my mistake. I was simply stating that I would love for the setlist to be a little more varied thats all. Not the same beg. and end to every concert. Do about 17 songs like they previously were. Hey they may have had their reasoning who knows. 2 or 3 songs is ok, but not just dynamite songs which are usually the ones switched. They have played Mr. Moon, High Times, Too Young to Die and Traveling Without Moving, but not many times. I was simply asking you guy s what songs you would like to hear if you went to a show. I seen to notice the shows are looking more and more identical. We havent seen Just Another Story and Mr. Moon that much. Would I rather hear When You Gonna Learn and Too Young to Die instead of a 11 minute jam out on Alright (hypathetically speaking) yes, but thats only my opinion.

I thought the setlist for Dusseldorf was nearly perfect. I wished they played Black Devil Car but that's all i missed really.
