U.S. Jamiroquai "Dynamite Tuesday" Thread!
Hello,
Please forgive my continiuing "posting absence" from Talk, been a very BUSY last couple of weeks for me, so I have tried to pop in when I can to post on some things . Anyway, next Tuesday, Jamiroquai's "Dynamite" FINALLY get a release in the States in a COOL DUALDISC release, so I'm dubbing it "Dynamite Tuesday" . On that day, using this thread, all my fellow American fans will hopefully, at their own time, will post their impressions of the new DD release, pictures, scans and so forth to celebrate the new album release. I invite fellow US fans, Beena, Jaminneapolis, JGrizz, Freddie HG, and others to drop their thoughts about the new album release here on this thread, I look forward to reading all your reviews, seeing your pictures and scans and relishing in the new goodness of "Dynamite"! Till "Dynamite Tuesday", everyone have a great weekend and see you fresh with my thoughts on it then! Peace!
Sincerely,

I'm sure I saw someone ask this question somewhere else but I couldn't find it, but the US release(s) (CD/DualDisc) both include the George Bush "thanks" in the booklet, and additionally no longer spell Jamiroquai incorrectly near the end of the thank you's!
Another interesting observation on the credits for the DVD is "Seven Days In Sunny June" Music Video / Directed by Jay Kay. I didn't think Jay directed it, I thought it was Matt Kirkby...
Oh, additionally, the DVD is NTSC and region 0 (region free), which is good news. |

Hello again,
Thank you David for the added details about the DUALDISC release of Dynamite, much appreciated as always ! But I will tell you all something I was a little miffed about, I was expecting a little promotions from the major American electronic stores for Dynamite in their Sunday circulars (I.E. Circuit City, Best Buy..etc. Circulars are printed adverts that promote the next weeks items that on sale), but to my dismay, there was not 1 little mention of Jami's new album in the box about this week's New CD Releases . That fact that Sony/BMG US wouldn't promote Jami in those IMPORTANT markets for CD buying kind of irked me, but I guess they could be waiting to promote like a blitz in time for Jami's U.S. Tour in Oct./Nov. Anyway, thanks again for the notes David and see you all tomorrow fresh and ready to talk about the US release of Dynamite. If your wondering, I will be getting both releases , if my money holds up that is , see you tomorrow! Peace!
Sincerely,

I had a friend take me over to the music store at 10am. There were jamiroquai posters on the windows, but the flippin album wasn't even in the "New CDs" section. So, I had an associate help me. The new CD was in the regular section , and they didn't even have the Dual Disc version. BUT, the associate was kind enough to give me the in-store dvd along (which has the videos to FJLIS and SDISJ- I'm not sure about the making of parts, since I haven't been home but for 5 minutes) with the regular CD. So that's my experience, and once I'm done with classes for today, I'll post the pictures of posters that were on the window and more about the DVD if it's different than stuff listed on funkin. _________________ so why do

JGRIZZ SAYS
Just got back from Tower Records in Irvine (CA) and bought my Dynamite Dual Disc.
it was $12.99+tax,
very nice 'Dual Disc' case with button to open the CD,
but I didn't see any promotional stuff anywhere in the store.
No DVD samplers, nothing. No posters but Seven Days starting playing right when I walked in, which was pretty cool.
I'll post again after I get home and watch the interviews and DVD material.
peace out J-Talker's and have a great "DYNAMITE TUESDAY"

Got my Dynamite Dualdisc here in Boston at Best Buy around 10 a.m. today. It went for about $16.99, which bothered me since BB's usually cheaper than most stores. Still, I went ahead and paid for it along with a pair of headphones that I found out really, really sucked. One of my roommates is getting them for a ten spot.
Cover: Not the shiny stuff like I hoped, but still, nice to see the Buffalo Man where it belongs. Diego, the back cover is basically the same as the rest, except there's more text that involves the DVD side. My scanner's busted, so hopefully another U.S. fan can show you what I'm saying.
DVD: Good, good stuff. A great 'making the video' on FJLIS. My roommates watched and were impressed at some of the tricks used (teflon on Jay's shoes, the molds and makeup for the 'Candyman') and we had a couple of good laughs over Jay in the red dress. I also played the whole album in the enhanced mode...WOW. It was really special to hear every sound in the tracks with fatter beats. I think I'm gonna be playing this on DVD more than on my stereo! Didn't see the music videos, since I already have about a thousand times before.
Great job by the band and Sony/BMG. Hoping to see more promotion for this as the North American tour draws closer. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Hello again,
Hehe, I pretty much followed JGrizz's lead and bought my Dualdisc today at Tower Records for about $13 . I'm currently watching the DVD Content of the Dualdisc right now, and so far I'm pretty impressed. The "Dynamite Program" (That leads into the 30 minute "Making Of the FJLIS Video") JK Interview portion of it is very indepth and nice, I remember seeing the snippets of this on the UK Tiscali Dynamite Microsite, but they aren't here, like the part where he discusses SDISJ, but the "Making Of" have some VERY funny moments ( http://www.sonymusic.com/jamiroquai/tiscali ). The Enhanced Stereo version of the whole Dynamite is nice too, but not as "expected" as you would think, just more loud synth parts of each song. Overall, I agree with my fellows, much improved release this album, though I wait for the darn promotions for the upcoming tour. Thanks to Supersonic, JGrizz and Focs19 for their mini-reviews of the release, look forward for more reviews from US Fans ! Peace!
Sincerely,

Hello yet again,
Sorry for the confusion Kellte, I should have elaborated further, what I was trying to say was it appears on the LCPM enhanced Audio version of Dynamite on the DVD portion of it, it seems the synth parts of some of the songs (Seven Days, Electric Mistress, Love Blind and so forth) have been increased in overall volume. So, the songs with heavy amounts of "Pro Tools" sound louder than the others (I was hoping for some DVD background animations to compliment the songs playing, but nothing but a purple screen with the song title listed in text.). In regards to the US Dynamite back cover, I thought it was funny they stuck with the picture for that like the Japanese/UK Dyna releases, looked like the golden buffaloman cover and this back image kind of clashed with each other. As for the CD booklet, pretty much a carbon copy of the booklet for the other releases, but the text was smaller in it, making it seem that the booklet was larger when it wasn't. But I have to say the coolest thing is the sleek new Dualdisc jewel case, got a really great button you can push to open it and a oval side that makes it a slim fit between other CDs. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

JGRIZZ
Yeah the case is definetly the best part.
But I just wanted to say that the overall quality of watching the video portions on a DVD player versus the internet is almost like night and day!
I mean you notice things that you normally just wouldn't pick up watching it from the internet.
I really enjoyed watching the Making of FJLIS (well partly because it was filmed in LA) and it was just great to watch Jay do his own stunts too.
BUt I will say this my fellow party people, I like FJLIS and SDISJ but I wish they would have picked Dynamite for the first single.
and I can't wait for the video. |

Cool, thanks.
I wonder why they changed 'Love Blind' to 'Loveblind'... don't know why they constantly changed the titles of the song (GHAC for (D)GHAC, and Talulah).
Anyway, cool... I'll try to buy that someday
