Exclusive track by Matt Johnson @ funkin.com
Hurry up and go to funkin.com and download an exclusive track "Zoom" by "Jazz Junkie" written and recorded by Matt Johnson!
It's really great stuff! I love it! Great work, Matt!!!
Matt Johnson:
| Quote: |
"I wrote and recorded this about 5 years ago as part of an album I made. It was very much a labour of love rather than an attempt to sell records! I worked with Gary Barnacle* on a few tracks, of which this is one."
"He plays some fantastic flute on this track, the whole album was very brass orientated, I was more interested in composition than showing off my keyboard playing."
"The vocals were done by Caroline Wilson and myself, she added some nice latin parts in the solo section. I played all the other instruments and did the programming and mixing in my home studio in London." |
Go and read the whole story at:

P.S.: Wow, those flutes are amazing!!
*Gary Barnacle played sax and flute on EOPE!!
...
And don't forget that you have the possibility to donate for the BritishRedCross, if you like it!

Hi all. Matt was really pleased to be able to give something back to us all who have supported him and made him feel welcome after stepping into the shoes of the great Toby!
I think the track is great, and want to know more about the other tracks he recorded "...as part of an album I made...."
Cheers,
David |

the song is very electronic, but it have a jazz touch i really like, for example, the flutes (that seems to be sampled.. heheh) sounds extremely nice... and the backing vocals give it a jazz touch too.... in fact all the song seem to be sampled.... eheheh but sounds great!! i liked it! great job matt!! _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

This track is something between old (flute) and new (keys) style of Jamiroquai b-side music. Both of guys did their own work in their own style... |

Do you guys really like it?
With no singing, it really leaves my attention somewhere else.
It's not catchy I don't think...
Maybe it has somewhat good melody to ot, but not anything else than played regularly on places like Ibiza or chill-out-tents at hippiecamps! I'm sorry,
