Hooray For Alright!
buffaloman_R Hooray For Alright! buffaloman_R

last week on the electric circus (a canadian dance show i watch) they held a poll on their website for "favorite video" the choices were:

prodigy - i can't remember what song it was 2yuck
basement jaxx - jump n' shout Smile
jamiroquai - alright :2yes:

the host of the show said he hoped it would be jamiroquai 5crossfingers, but later in the show prodigy was in the lead and jamiroquai was losing the blues, but when the poll closed, the results were..... jamiroquai!!!!!!! 2cloud9 They played alright and i turned up the volume, and began to go crazy as i usually do (i rarely hear or see jamiroquai and when i do.... i go crazy! 2faint). i was bouncing in my chair to it 2bouncy. My dad looked at me strangely as he usually does when jamiroquai is playing, and when it was over he said "that song is disco", and i said "that's not a new song you know, it's from 1996", he misheard me and said "1986???", i said "no! 1996!", and then i laughed 3jester and my body ached from the bouncing 2bouncy, and your probably bored of this right now so i'm gonna stop writing right..... NOW!

Good Vibes to yall! 2goodvibes

I'm so envious.....I have never seen a Jamiroquai video played on television. EVER!

Remember mates, if you hate good music, move to the States....we've got plenty of crap on our airways.

Hi Freddie!

Can you tell me more about radio stations in the States?
I have heard that they are very specialised. They play only 1 type of music like "oldies", or "country" or "rock".

That would exlain why Jamiroquai is never played on air, beacuse it is hard to classify them.

Genau!

Radio in Amerika ist immer Scheiße! Sie spielen Jamiroquai gar nicht.

(jetzt auf Englisch Embarassed )

The stations all have one type of music. Where I live there are 2 or 3 stations for only Rap and R&B, 2 stations for American Country, 2 stations for Classic Rock, and 1 station for Oldies. We have no DISCO/FUNK/ACID JAZZ station, and I hate it.

Habe ich dir geholfen?

Well Freddie, thanks for the details.

I don't know what's up with the American market but it seems quite hard for a European artist to enter it.
I heard Robbie Williams (don't worry, it was a coincidence, I was just listening to the radio when they brought his interview) said something interesting:
He was like
"My last album could get pretty popular in the US, but I won't take the bother to try to promote it there. The American market requires too hard work".

He did not specify why it was so hard to be broadcasted there, but I was surprise to hear that the American market was also a difficult topic for such a "main stream" singer like Robbie Williams too.

Maybe it is just cultural protectionism?

canadian radio is just as bad! They play the same songs over and over aggain until you want to stick a fork in your eye! everyday, I hear no doubt's underneath it all 4 times! 4! and each time i think "instead of playing this, they could be playing the sweet sounds of jamiroquai". I'ts amazing that I ever even discovered jamiroquai!

:7note: When is the entertainment buissness gonna learn?7note

2faint Ok, it say it all, Freddie.
I did not know that the situation was so desperate in the States.

In Europe, I would say that Robbie William is a reference in terms of popularity. He won twice the best male award at MTV European Music Award.
