BEST OF live versions topic!
Hello Jamirotalkers,

I'm currently doing an special 2-disc MP3 with the best live performances of Jamiroquai, that I'll give to a couple of friends (you know, we have to Jamiroculturize them LOL). One of the MP3 includes the 6 albums, Best Remixes, etc, and the other one is only live.

You know, live versions gets more enjoyable when less known and more risked are; there are open spaces for timing and the complex polirritmic melodies of the musicians in each song, extending times, playing with sounds, deforming and complicating the structure of the songs until make them unrecognizable (I read that in an article about them, I think is the best way to decribe their live performances). So, I made a list of what I think are some of the best examples of this:

» '(SONG)' (WHERE IT WAS PLAYED) Beginning time - ending time

» 'Canned Heat' (Luna Park 1999) 3:07- 5:33
» 'Travelling Without Moving' (Luna Park 1999) 2:46 - 6:33
» 'Use The Force' (Montreux Jazz Festival 2003) 6:33- 8:18
» 'Soul Education' (Montreux Jazz Festival 2003) 4:10- 8:04
» 'Planet Home' (Luna Park 1999) 2:38 - 6:29
» 'Love Foolosophy' (Bercy 2005) 3:00- 6:00
» 'Canned Heat' (Bercy 2005) 5:35- 5:53
» 'Blow Your Mind' (Live Amsterdam 1994) 0:36 - 1:45
» 'When You Gonna Learn' (Amsterdam 1994) 24:06 - 30:47
» 'High Times' (Pori Jazz Festival 2003) 3:57 - 6:54
» 'Use The Force' (Bercy 2005) 5:44- 9:26
» 'Space Cowboy' (Live Amsterdam 1994) 2:07- 7:50
» 'Just Another Story' (Montreux Jazz Festival 2003) 6:33 - 10:24
» 'Little L' (BBC Radio 1 Weekend) 3:32 - 4:04
» 'Butterfly' (Pori Jazz Festival 2003) 4:22 - 8:23
» 'Blow Your Mind' (Pori Jazz Festival 2003) 3:21 - 4:33
» 'Love Foolosophy (Pori Jazz Festival 2003) 5:15 - 13:31

Some of those instrumental breaks are incredible, take some of your time and listen to them, I know you'll find some that you thought the same!
Do you have any other?

D! (dyego)
