Jay's accident article
Hello Jamirotalkers,
An article I found about Jay's accident:
'There was blood everywhere and everyone was worried'
September 29, 2005
Jamiroquai star Jay Kay was rushed to hospital after a nasty fall on his tour bus.
The Cosmic Girl singer gashed his arm on a heater when the bus, which was driving around Hamburg, Germany, stopped suddenly and caught Jay off balance.
A source revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "There was blood everywhere and everyone was worried he wouldn't be able to perform in Hamburg."
Jay received seven stitches in his arm and vowed to perform later that night, because he didn't want to let his fans down.
He continues his world tour in Milan, Italy, on Thursday night, before playing more concerts in Europe, and then touring America, Japan and Australia.
Meanwhile, Jay recently confessed his new album track Hot Tequila Brown was written after a three-day cocaine binge - which could have killed him.
The Jamiroquai frontman revealed he penned the track after a life-changing moment, which caused him to quit drugs.
He explained: "I was up for three days doing coke, killing myself. I grabbed a bottle of tequila and went gulp, gulp, and it was hotter than a cup of tea.
"I looked in the mirror and went, 'Alright, that's enough, time to stop.'"
Jay claims he wouldn't have been able to make his latest album if he hadn't given up drugs - because he may not have survived.
He confessed to Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "To be honest, if I hadn't given up the gear, I wouldn't have even made an album. So I'm lucky to be here, really. I'm lucky to be alive."
