OFF TO CHICAGO!!!!
Both NY shows were amazing! If Chicago is even half as good I'll be impressed. Have a good weekend y'all. Peace! _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Chicago was pretty good. Not quite as good as the NY shows IMO, but still very good. For me it's hard to match those NY shows, because the first NY show was my very first Jamiroquai show (so it has a special place in my heart lol), and Matt or Rob in one of their latest diary entires said it themselves, that the 2nd New York show is the best they've been all tour. That show was amazing.
SO FOR CHICAGO TO EVEN BE VERY CLOSE TO THAT I WAS SATISIFIED. Here's a setlist if you haven't seen it already at http://www.funkin.com
1. Canned Heat
2. Space Cowboy
3. Cosmic Girl
4. Revolution 1993
5. Little L
6. Seven Days In Sunny June
7. High Times
8. Dynamite
9. You Give Me Something
10. Use The Force
11. Black Capricorn Day
12. Love Foolosophy
13. Main Vein/Time Won't Wait
14. Alright
15. Deeper Underground
It seemed like the band was having techincal problems the whole night. Not that the crowd could really hear, but throughout the night I saw JK, Rob and Sola pointing at their earpiece and shaking their heads like they couldn't hear anything. JK kept pointing off to the side to turn somethin up and down too. But they didn't really let it impact their performance. It was still very good.
Their setlist seems to be getting streamlined now too, because I don't think any new songs have been added to the setlist since NY show 2. Not that I had a problem with that. They sounded very good on all songs. Someone early in the gig I think after "Space Cowboy" threw a small baggie of marijuana up on stage, and JK inspected it and then kept it for later use Im sure.
The crowd didn't seem quite as hardcore as NY either. I think there were more "casual" fans at the Chicago show than at the NY show. They just didn't seem quite as into the songs (singing and dancing) like the people in New York. The way Jamiroquai has been playing during this tour in the U.S. I think they will gain the respect of a lot of people and hopefully the gigs will sell out a lil quicker next time. Everyone definately went home with their money's worth.
I feel like Im leaving something out but I don't consider myself to be that good of a reviewer, so others that were there please feel free to add. I'll post some pics of the gig later tonight. Peace! _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life?

Fra,
Thanks again for your help. I know these pics are a lil blurry, but I was too far back. There also was a slgiht haze in the building which kept me from getting good quality pics. Sorry they aren't better but at least it's something. ~Pete _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Chicago was a tough show due to our onstage sound.Unfortunately we could all hear more sound bouncing back from the back wall than we could what was in our in ear monitors. Its kind of like watching a movie but having to listen to the soundtrack from a completely different movie.Very confusing.
