OVATION TV STATION - USA
morning,
this will concern jamiroquai...read until the end:
there is a new television station in America called OVATION. This station is dedicated to music and arts, and shows programming from all over the world that we here in the States may never see otherwise. It has great programming, however the problem because the station is new and becoming established, it hasn't been picked up by a major cable provider (those that control what channels are pumped into our homes) such as Comcast, Direct TV, etc. It is only available on independent satellite, which some of you know is rare for people to have in this day and age of 'virtual insanity'. So, they are asking for people to bug their cable provider to pick up the station. Some of your homes may carry OVATION, but the majority of American homes don't.
OVATION is out of Virginia. A few months ago, they featured highlights from one of the Montreaux Jazz festivals with Jamiroquai in it, and they also are showing the Later with Jools Holland programs, 2 of which are featuring Jamiroquai doing 4 -5 songs. Later with Jools is slated to be aired in mid-December.
please go to their website: www.ovationtv.com and click on get ovation now, and follow those directions to help get the station picked up for all of us to view our favorite band and other quality programming!
i have emailed them a few times and called today (spoke to a really nice guy) to get more specifics on viewing this channel and left messages for about 3 people. Since it's a nationwide independent channel, some of you might be able to get it now. It's not often we see Jamiroquai on our television, so I think this station deserves our support! if anyone is more educated in satellite tv than i (cause i am just learning now about this crap) or has any feedback or corrections to what i wrote above, please share the love and post it!
thanks, spread this to fan sites where american jami fans may roam - and email me for questions: dyer95@hotmail.com

Looking at the channels TV scheduals, it looks as though they do have some Jamiroquai TV performances lined up. For example on 15 Dec thaey have a programme called 'A little later... Jamiroquai' ,,, which sounds like it could be a Jools Holland performance. |

yes, they do.
the problem is WE can't view them because this station isn't picked up by many cable providers that give us stations in our homes.
television here is ran by media moguls such as Comcast, Time Warner, Dish, and many more.
they have certain channels they carry based on coverage area. OVATION isn't one of them. that is why i say to sign the petition or send an email demanding OVATION be picked up, so we can see this jules holland performance, and other quality programming in the future. |

F'n A... Time Warner Cable in Minneapolis only shows MTV-2 for half a day... (from 6PM-6AM). I doubt they plan on picking up ovation anytime soon, unless the per subscrier fee for the network is super cheap... _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Hello,
Well, being in Virginia, I have have seen Ovation on my local cable systems maybe once or twice, but has noted by Pete, it is on a broadcast limit daily . If I remember correctly, they air Ovation on our Comcast from something like midnight to 6 am EST, which kind of sucks cause the asbeforementioned "Montreux Highlights" with Jamiroquai came on around primetime. But from what I have seen, that seems to be the only really interesting thing I have seen on Ovation, maybe once they have spread to other cable outlets at more reasonable times, they might show much more great music programming, till then, good luck! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

I guess it depends what you are into JamiroFan2000. I love all types of music and would love to see this station get picked up. When I look at their programming, I just look in awe because it's so different from what we are used to and I like that they are taking a chance. The fact that they even broadcast or give love to the Montreaux Jazz festival is enough for me. They are deeply cultured and that is what I like about them. They have Afro-Cuban stuff too!! That's so hard to find on television.
Many of it is foreign programming and I love to see and learn what others outside of our lovely country are viewing.
I know it's a long shot, but I've never been one of those people to sit back and complain, instead of trying to do something. I complain about the programming on MTV, VH1 and BET, and not only their lack of love for Jamiroquai, but their lack of knowledge on other music. I don't see it a problem that they play what they play, they just need to mix it up. So, I act on that complaint and try. May or may not get anywhere, but a closed mouth never gets fed, and it was my opinion about the American promotion that led me to meet the band |
