Maroon 5 seems to be heading in that direction(musically) but I don't think they're intentionally stealing Jam's music

man you got it all wrong, you are not replying to zhe topic that i opened;i never said that maroon5 lead singer copies or even looks or sings like jay(let me now if someone can Wink ),i didnt mention any critics, because i dont listen to them,so i had an opinion of my own that ONLY THIS SONG "SUNDAY MORNING" LOOKS LIKE A JAMIROQUAI SONG "VIRTUAL INSANITY" JUST LISTEN TO IT!!!

p.s catman have you even heard the song?

Now that I remember it, it does have a passing resemblance....if anyone has the Maroon 5 album, could you check the liner notes? If a sample of "Virtual Insanity" was used, they have to put it in, lest they wanna get sued.

Obviously y'all don't listen to a lot of rap/ hip hop. Pretty much 2/3 of all the good backbeats you hear famous rappers rappin to, are old songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

A lot of bands sample others these days. It just happens. Is "Sunday Morning" that new song they have that goes "YOU'RE ALL I NEED, YOU'RE ALL I SEE" or something like that? If that's the case, that's actually the first Maroon 5 song I like. So simple, but so good. An almost Sugar Ray type simplicity to it lol.

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Wink Good job setting it right Jaminneapolis, I was starting to think this was the most silly topic I have ever read Wink! Maroon 5 has the problem of being unfairly compared to Jamiroquai, yeah, they sound very much the same, but there absolutely no foulplay in music stealing. Nonetheless, that is a very good musical point CheeebaLover, they have very similar beginnings. Mad I just wish the music press would smarten up sometime and stop throwing "they sound like" monikers on all the newest artists, I find it rather annoying and unprofessional like Mad . Oh well, thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

this is all i wanted to say;and yes jamin.. i listened to hip hop but they are sampling the exact music and they put on the cover of the album who are they sampling from, but maroon5 used jamioruquai sample from "virtual insnity" and transformed it into their own sound without giving any credit to jami and thats what pisses me off.

btw they will never sound like jamiroquai, because jami is to great for them..at least they can try to copy Razz Twisted Evil

just like obsessing over the name of an album influencing how good or bad an album will be, you're goin way too overboard with this. I think if you listen closer to a lot of your favorite songs, you'll notice they're influenced, if not ripping off certain parts from others in the past.

I think one of the main reasons why we are so obsessive over little things as of late is because we're frustrated @ the long delay of the new album

idle minds tend to over analyze

Just a thought 2scratchchin
