3 July 2005 - B! Live, London
I just posted the following at funkin.com, and at the request of Cosmic Bear and Mouse am posting it here as well Smile

On Sunday evening in London, Jamiroquai played at the B! Live festival in Clapham Common, where they performed a fantastic set lasting around 2 hours 15 minutes. The full setlist was as follows:

1. Intro (Elecric Mistress)
2. Canned Heat
3. Space Cowboy
4. Cosmic Girl
5. Revolution 1993
6. Little L
7. Too Young To Die
8. Electric Mistress
9. Corner Of The Earth
10. Music Of The Mind
11. Feels Just Like It Should
12. Love Foolosophy
13. Mr Moon
14. Dynamite
15. Butterfly
16. Use The Force
17. Seven Days In Sunny June
18. Starchild
19. Alright
20. Virtual Insanity
21. Deeper Underground

Wow - what a set. Thanks to everyone who I met before, during and after the gig, especially to the fellow webmasters of Jamirotalk and Jamirosite. I've got quite a few photos that I'll put online over the coming days so stay tuned.

I'm not sure how you can review a 21 song set list! There was so much great stuff!!!!

My thoughts on the support acts were, Hed Kandi are cool! Unfortunate to be 1st on, I will try and listen more to this lot.

Amy Winehouse didnt do anything for me really. Spent most of the time moaning about being 2nd on and not having a proper set. Well darling, if you sang a little better and moaned quite a lot less you might just get a better slot!

Flavour Flav. WTF?! Who thought putting a Hip Hop act in the middle of this lineup was a good idea? Really really out of place and the time I went for drinkies. Very Happy

BNH. Awesome! Fantastic performance, I will most certainly try to get to see the them again soon. They were the perfect warm up act for JMQ in my eyes.... and Nicole... mmmmmm..... Wink

JMQ. I guess in short I have to say i was proud to be there at the front and several times I told my gf that there was NO WHERE ELSE i would want to be but on Clapham Common @ 7pm 3rd July!!!!!

GIVE ME A BOOTLEG PEOPLE!

(really sorry havent got any photos, I opted for the continual booging instead Smile , might give a proper review laters)

OK, here I am,

Wow, just unbelievable. Nearly 24 hrs later, and I still can't believe what happened. I'll keep it short, because there arent many words which can describe how it was. (If you want to imagnine how I felt, well imagine combining the best effects of... better stop there Embarassed Wink )

OK, it's Sunday 3rd of July, 5am. Just 4 hours before I was at a 21st birthday party. 3 cups of coffee, 2 cans of Red Bull and 3 Superkings later (and by this time its 6am) we're (me, my sister and me mum who came along with me) in the car with a 4hr drive from Liverpool to London ahead of us. Right, it's now 10am and we're in London, and with the help of the SatNav I find our hotel, drop our stuff off and drive to Clapham Common. The plan is that I go inside and meet up with the others (this is after several txt messages with Bear) and my sister and my mum go to central London to sight-see. It then takes me 2 hours to find somewhere to park, because you needed a permit everywhere. Little did I realise that this only applied Mon-Sat, and the 3rd of July was a Sunday Mad Evil or Very Mad

So in I go alone and soon I find everyone. It was really good to finally see you all in person. Please don't make me recite everyone's real names and their screen names, because this is one of my many weaknesses, but ofcourse I know who you all are. Infact, I'm also scared I'll get someone's name wrong, or miss someone out) By now its 1pm and we've got to wait until 7pm which is when Jamiroquai come on.

This seemed like an eternity, and the supporting acts didn't exactly help, apart from Hed Kandi and the Brand New Heavies (BNH really got me into the mood for JMQ). Amy Whinewhatshername and Flava Flav were a bit tedious. By this time I was tired like there's no tomorrow, after driving since 6 in the morning and standing for 6 hours. The Brand New Heavies finish and we've got a 45 minute wait until JMQ while the stage is set up. I felt like scratching my eyeballs out.

OK, it's time, and all of a sudden Electric Mistress starts playing and the crowd knows whats coming in a few seconds. The bandmembers come out and the people, many of whom have been waiting since 1 o'clock, cheer like mad. Then, in all the hype, Jay pops out and oh my word, the atmosphere was just undescribebly blilliant. We go straight into Canned Heat and then Space Cowboy (the songs seemed to be only seconds long, it's true that time flies when you're enjoying yourself). Jay was talking to the crowd in between every song and the vibe and the atmosphere there were so good. I think we all looked forward to this so much we couldn't believe it was happening and all I can say is (so cheesy that it's cringeworthy, I know) is that it felt just like it should. The band played fantastic and Jay was just out of this world in every bit. I really can't give a review of every song as time went so fast I couldn't believe it when Deeper U. was played and it was the end.

Having danced my little legs off after standing for 6 hours and eating not much at all, I was knackered and had to go to the hotel. I wish I could have come out with the others afterwards, but I think I wouldn't have been able to walk and just stuble everywhere. Plus, it turned out that my mum and my sister also bought tickets on the day and they were at the front but to the right of the stage and couldnt get closer to me because of the crowd. That was something you wouldn't expect... And I think I made two new Jamiroquai fans there Smile On the downside, some t!t clipped the back of the Mondy so there's a scrape there now. Not that I'll be able to drive her anyway now, as you may know. Sad Evil or Very Mad

I met the others in the morning in the centre of London. First, I got the AFO, (or Dynamite as it is now) hat out and we took a few pics of me looking like a right *censored* with it on and then we went for something to eat and a drink. It was time for me to go as I didnt want to get a loan from the bank to pay for my parking. A few hours later, here I am at home still high.

It was great to meet you all there, and I really hope it could happen again some time.

Now driving licencelessly yours, and waiting to see everyones pics coz I forgot me camera in the car,

Serge
