Sola's competition: THE WINNERS ARE...
... 1st prize: Zed from Mexico

... 2nd prize Sue from USA

The competition ended on 31st december 2005 and you had to send in your reviews about the first Tank Tribe Track "Got to go".

Read more about the winners here:

http://www.solaakingbola.com/competition.html

Reviews:

I recommend you to read both reviews... they are nice! Good job and congrats, Zed and Sue! good clapping

I am wondering why there wasn't a third prize as Sola had announced in the competition... Confused

Here's a juicy little competition, not an easy one mind, but one that has a nice goodies bag to go with it...

...tour t-shirts, album and tour programmes signed by all the band, tour jacket and any other bits I can get hold of for you as we move through Japan and then down under to Australia.

Now, what do you have to do to get your hands on these precious little bits and pieces?

Not another crash the Ferrari competition I hear you wail. Yes, quite right, no one ever did get that one right.

What about a prize for the best review (it can be a critical one, in fact I love of bit of hard talk) of the new Tank Tribe track – Got to Go?

Yes, yes that’s a good one. Let’s have first, second and third prizes.

Review to be posted to me at sola@solaakingbola.com and the final date for receipt of entries is 31st December 2005 so that the winner gets a nice little parcel in the post in the New Year.

Catch you later,
Sola

i'm sad i didn't won this competition, reading the winners reviews i think mine could be a winner to, mine was more short and obiously less rich in words as i only know to words to explain good things (great and incredible) but i think it was good enough....

extrange about the third price thing.....well......i still may win the 3rd place :-p

same here... Rolling Eyes ... I sent him a review that my little son Marlin has made. (Of course I have translated it before). It wasn't that long and detailed, but had some funny points - from the point of view of a 6 years old! Laughing

Hey, why don't you post your review here, jamirokaki, so that we all can read and enjoy it? clapping

We can collect all reviews here that haven't won the prizes! good

hm, that's pity, jamirokaki.... but don't you have the sent mail in your outbox? Normally all emails you are sending will be saved in the outbox - until you delete them. Maybe you still have it... Rolling Eyes

Anyways, I digged out Marlin's review!

Me and my son Marlin were listening a lot to the tank tribe track
in the car, on our way to Marlin's school, and we were discussing it a lot.
I told him about the competition Sola was running, and asked him what he thinks about the song.
I translated and wrote down his comments, I think it is interesting what the growing generation of music lovers is thinking about that piece of art! Wink

I think his comments sounded funnier in german language... but still...

Enjoy!

Got To Go - TANK TRIBE
Comments of 6 years old Marlin Melansek:

"The beginning they have taken from "supersonic", haven't they?
Sounds similar and that's why I like it.

The moment when the drums start to play is great. I love drums.

The didgeridoo sounds cool in the song... but later in the middlepart, I think
there is something wrong with it. It sounds as if it's broken or damaged.
Hearing it a few more times, I like it more and more. It sounds funny when it is stumbling.
Maybe they even wanted it to sound like that - I don't know....

I like the tempo of the song, because it's good for dancing.
Otherwise... it could have been a bit faster for my taste. But it's all good.

I thought Sola is a percussionist, but he is a good singer as well!
But I cannot understand the words, because he is singing in English.
The only thing I can sing a long is this "hhm-mm". That's cool!
I counted him singing it 7 times during the song!

Next year I will start learning English at school.
Hope I will be able to understand it better then.
What's the song about, by the way?"
