JAY A MAYBE AT CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH - MAY 2006
Hi everyone, found this article today...
All star match at Mad Stad
Stars of the sport and film world are poised to re-ignite football’s most bitter rivalry in a charity match at the Mad Stad.
Formula One king Michael Schumacher and Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom will go head-to-head for England versus Germany – The Legends.
New James Bond Daniel Craig will be swapping 007 for a number seven shirt and is expected to join Noel Gallagher, Sean Bean and Paul Weller in a Brit line-up to send their German opponents packing like England did four decades ago.
The match has been organised to mark the 40th anniversary of the classic 1966 World Cup Final at Wembley Stadium and will also feature a host of ex-players.
It’s hoped a sell-out crowd will head to the stadium and help raise cash for the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund and Red Cross.
And the German side will be stocked with ex-internationals as well, with Lothar Matthäus, Rudi Völler, Jürgen Kohler along with Formula One’s Michael and brother Ralf Schumacher and tennis ace Boris Becker making up likely rivals.
The match will set the pitch alight on Wednesday, May 3, and is due to be televised. Kick-off will be at 8pm.
Reading Football Club spokesman Andy West said the final line-up was not confirmed.
But the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Stuart Pearce and singer Jay Kay were among “the kind of people organisers were talking about” for the England team.
Reading FC season ticket holders and member card holders can get their hands on tickets for a special rate of £10 and £5 concessions.
Tickets are now on sale and there are four ways to book them. You can call 0870 999 1871, buy them in person at Madejski Stadium, buy online at www.readingfc.co.uk or by downloading a fax form and sending it to 0870 999 1001.
The Reading FC selling period ends on Sunday, March 26, after which seats will go on general sale.

i hope jay takes part. thanks samantha for this find!
i'm always interested in charity events that celebrities take part in..especially jamiroquai. last week while researching for various ideas to raise money for HIV/AIDS, i came across these 2 things:
-this cookbook that jay contributed to for the tsunami. anyone in europe know what the recipe was?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0955198305/qid%3D1142303401/026-3666763-5865218
-also, jay signed a jacket for an auction for ellie may. the auction took place at the end of february. this is the jacket i've been wanting damn it. not that i would have bid on it since it's in the UK, but i would have tried:

more about ellie may here: www.elliemay.info
this helps feed my curiousity of whether entertainers feel a responsibility to contribute or act on behalf of others/charity. just another one of my boring thoughts..don't mind me.
thanks again samantha |

^those jackets are for sale everywhere and classified under 'jamiroquai' after jay wore that jacket. people got smart and bought a few at a time and sell them as 'the jacket jay wore or the jamiroquai jacket'. i discovered this while doing extensive research for the ONLY jamiroquai thing i TRULY want - the adidas dynamite tour jacket. it shall be mine someday!! |
