NEW COMPETITION AT OFFICIAL WEBSITE
New Jamiroquai Competition... | 17.03.2006
"Make sure to keep your eyes peeled to the site because over the next fortnight Jamiroquai are going to be launching a new competition online. One very lucky person is going to win a truly amazing, once-off Jamiroquai collectors item. Not to be missed... " |

( Thinks to self, "New Official Site competition? Oh please god, don't let it be a Free CD giveaway like during the AFO era, the whole 'Online Odyssey Free CD giveaway', I must of registered and entered 1,000 variations of that contest and I STILL never got one!" )
Hello,
New Official Competition....hmmm I'm game, probably a "win a trip to see Jamiroquai live in...[insert a venue from the upcoming Latin/South American gig here] " type of contest ! But I would like it to be affiliated with the impending Greatest Hits Compilation, maybe a few copies of the Jamiroquai "Complete Odyssey" boxset for good measure. I just hope I win something, I think all fans deserve a little rare Jamiroquai download or something from those Sony bigwhigs ! Nevertheless, thanks for that spotting Sandriche, much appreciated, will try to swim through the endless bantor of the Official Forum to play into this competition ! Peace!
Sincerely,

Jamirofan2000 - in fairness, they DID make it very clear when that AFO 'contest' was held that it was only open to UK residents.
And to be honest, if you've since managed to find the 'Black Capricorn Day' video anywhere online, you've missed precisely nothing, the rest of that CD was a right piece of crap.

Re: NEW COMPETITION AT OFFICIAL WEBSITE
May the God of Funk forgive me, I am about to have a very serious sarcasm attack . . .
. . . does this mean that 'Sir' JK is looking for a way to work out one of the current band members, and is devising this competition as an excuse to live up to the expectations of

as the prize.
*** Matt ponders the thought of why he has been summoned to Horsenden ??? And wonders if it has anything to do with that hair cut that he has been promising 'Sir' JK that he will take care of ??? *** _________________ Jamily to the bone !!!

I have only seen the BCD video this week. It looks like it was filmed around the Limehouse area in East London.
Does anyone know the story to this video ???
I thought it was excellent, a refreshing change !!!

Hello again,
Yeah exactly Jamirokaki, I know where not on a eve of a new Jami album release, but it still has that ere of "Free CD/merchandise" situation of a Official Site competition . That was my premise of my original thoughts, I mean, I don't expect some fan will win copies of Jamiroquai's original master tapes from EOPE or anything, but you would think with how sprawled out Jamiroquai's worldwide fanbase has become, they would run competitions on each continent's respective Sony/BMG Music Jamiroquai sites monthly...or at least bi-monthly! But hopefully with the Columbia Records move, more "Viable" contests will be in the works till the GH Comp comes out. Nevertheless, good luck to all fans in the upcoming Official Site contest...whenever it drops within the bounds of a fortnight ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Heather - BCD was filmed in Glasgow, believe it or not. Which suggests that the car they pretend to steal might ACTUALLY be stolen, because it's the one place in Britain they could get away with something like that and I guess it's cheaper than buying /hiring one just for the filming!
OK, maybe not. But that's the only possible reason I can think of for them going to Glasgow to a film a video.
As for the story of why it never got put out, BCD was originally meant to be the second single released from Synkronized - Jay refers to it as 'the next single' in the programme to the UK leg of the Synkronized tour (which was actually written specially for the tour, not just a load of photos and a Sony press release like we've had for the last two tour programmes!). Why it wasn't, especially when Supersonic WAS put out as a single from that album, is anyone's guess.

That's funny Sam, thanks for the story.
Supersonic sold so well and was marketed so well too. BCD is like Revolution for me, since having seen it live I've changed my opinion of it. It is an excellent live performance. And the recent Japanese performance that was released was an amazing show by the whole band. _________________ Jamily to the bone !!!

KILL ME !!! DISOWN ME !!! I confess !!!
Yes, this was my confession long ago to Inaki, and he tutored me on my 'skip' track habit. I could never find the patience, that was until Birmingham.
After that, my own revolution took place. _________________ Jamily to the bone !!!

It's SUPERB! Amazing drumming, brilliant horns, killer bassline... I know I need to respect you for actually being alive during the '70s, Heather, but really and truly... honestly... I'm shocked.
You poor, POOR woman...
