Deeper Underground
I was listening to Deeper Underground the other day and a weird thought came across my mind. If you listen to the lyrics, it almost seems to fit perfectly with the happenings in New York City on Sept. 11th. Very strange, since the song was obviously released years earlier... Jay even mentions New York City in the song..

Also, i'm sure most of you know Jamiroquai had a concert here Sept. 10th in NYC. But on 9/11 he was actually going to go sightseeing to the World Trade Center. HOWEVER, he stayed in because he was so tired from partying the night before.

Imagine that!

i had exactly the same thought when i listened to DU a couple of weeks ago. the lyrics and the mood of the song fit the situation that must have been in nyc on 9/11 and the following days. lots of anger, but also lots of fear. DU has always been my all-time-favorite jamiroquai-song, but ever since 9/11 it has even more impact and influence on me.

i don't wanna think about the possibility that jk and the rest could have been in the WTC. but so many people have died, so many people still suffer from the lost of a love one, it is actually unimportant if you are a world-famous musician, a secretary or a fire-fighter. let's just be thankful that they haven't been injured and that their music gives us a chance to put our mind on something good and comforting!
