Lauryn Hill concerts - Europe, Brazil, Cali
Straight from Pitchfork. I remember her being mentioned a few times on here, so I thought I'd post this up. I wouldn't expect the same Lauryn Hill that was pre and immediate post Fugees era....although she could surprise people
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/42869-lauryn-hill-to-play-rare-shows
Though her official website doesn't seem to contain any information from later than 2002, singer/rapper Lauryn Hill will play three rare live dates in England in July. The former Fugee will do that thing she does starting July 8 in London and ending in Manchester on July 10.
Thanks to reader Nathan Haldane for the tip.
UPDATE: SHE'S ALSO PERFORMING IN THE U.S.! TWO CALIFORNIA DATES ARE SCHEDULED FOR LATE JUNE.
AND IN BRAZIL!
Also, Conor Oberst recently told Performing Songwriter magazine that a collaboration with Hill is in the works, but since she hasn't released an album since her 1998 solo debut (unless you count her 2002 installment in the MTV Unplugged series), she'd have to be a pretty big Bright Eyes fan for that to happen.
Dates:
06-12 Sao Paulo, Brazil - Pepsi OnStage
06-27 Oakland, CA - Paramount Theatre
06-29 Pala, CA - Palomar Starlight Theater
07-08 London, England - Apollo Hammersmith
07-09 Birmingham, England - Carling Academy
07-10 Manchester, England - Apollo _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com

England, England, England - and why not Czech Republic?
Ok, I know - nobody knows her name here
My statement:
| Quote: |
| Lauryn Hill is The Woman with The Voice. I didn`t like girlish solo voices (I`m not proud of it, but it is truth) until I heard her! I was crying hearing Mr.Intentional, Water & I Gotta Find Peace of Mind at the first (and not only) time! |
...but Prince came along first and she is younger than him so she will be there around in near future I hope! |

I heard those UK tickets are near 90 USD...that's insane. I love her and all, but I'd never pay that much to see her, especially with the new material and vibe she has currently. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

That's like 85 USD
There is no way I'd pay that to see her unless I got to meet and greet and eat
I saw her in 1996 with the Fugees, Tribe Called Quest, Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes and that was like 30 bucks. Granted that was 11 years ago and prices have changed, but 85? No way. I wonder what the San Diego concerts are charging. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Tlum,
Is the price you listed pretty standard for seeing a big act? Or is it a little high? I've seen her once as a part of Smokin Grooves tour (Outkast was the headliner)- but it was her Unplugged set, so unfortunately nothin from the Miseducation... _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... I must say that $85 is standard price for sitting areas at concerts of stars like Lauryn Hill in Czech Republic too (as in UK). For example...
George Michael - 2.6.2007 - Prague - the cheapest tickets are $45, standing next to stage are $60 and sitting begin at $75 and end at $200 or higher for PLATINUM Classe tickets.
But it depends on the american dollar/czech crown exchange rate.
I like her unplugged set more then the Miseducation songs. But the unplugged set deserves small club and not the big stadium or something so similar! And primarily - I like her voice and don`t care what she is singing... |
