The Johnny Cash Appreciation Topic....
 Hello,
 Through my early years of loving country music, I really revolved tightly around the early to late 50s rockabilly/gospel era of Sun Records with Rock legends like Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Carl Perkins and many others . Being from the South, I guess it was kind of expected of me to respect these artists, but one always fell from my view, and it was of course Johnny Cash. The amazing autobiographical movie came out in 2005 called "Walk The Line" starring Joaquin Phoenix doing a uncanny protrail of the rebel and ultimately the king of country music. I never really appreciated, or really realized the power of his songs until I saw this movie for the first time last night on DVD, how angry, blazen and dark his lyrical prowess was. I almost forgot in some parts of the movie that Joaquin was himself and nearly believed I was watching remastered archival of the Man in Black at his best, be in the forceful verbal swerves of "Folsom Prison Blues", the heartache of "Cry, Cry, Cry", the envious love jorn of "Ring Of Fire". So I thought it would only be befitting of this musical giant to give him his own appreciation topic here on JamiroTalk, if you haven't heard Johnny Cash, then you really haven't heard MUSIC till you listen to his heartache on the mountain of music he created over his 50+ years of early existance. Folsom Prison was the pinnacle of country greatness. I can't deny that. Good topic.
