a big rumor about next album
there is a big rumor about greatest hits album
as we know jmq signed a contract with sony for 8 albums so this album will be a double album
but the surprise is that one album will have 20 songs and the other will have new stuff with 10 songs 5 new and 5 unrealeased songs
so we are going to have more funk this year and also it is expected that two o three songs be performed for the festivals in july or august

Well... I heard old unreleased songs like 'Brothers Like You' could be resurrected by Jay for the Greatest Hits album... it was said to be unlikely though.
Time will tell. If it's true it's beyond great though. I'm just worried there won't be enough horns. |

im still confused on how its gonna be a double album tho....so doesnt it count if its a double release? like they usually count 1 cd as 1 release right? so double would be 2 right? therefore being 9cds not 8 ? |

we'll see about this rumor
catman - i think it's just like a double CD, but it'll be packaged in one, so it will only count as one release. when an artists released a double album in one package, they don't count as 2 releases, because they are together in the same package and same title, number, etc. does that make sense? if they sold them as 2 separate releases, then it would count as 2...hope that helps _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Maybe it is just his way to get his way?
He did not want a GH album...but a normall album.
With a double CD, sony gets their GH and he can do what he want's
And i don't think sony will mind to print 2 cd's? |

Hello,
Hmmm....I think CVR was thinking about the Red Hot Chili Pepper's current double album when this supposed rumour idea popped up for discussion, but I do think it's possible for Jamiroquai to churn out a double album . But if that was the case, they would have to alot Jamiroquai and JK about 5-6 years of time to come up with new material, given their track record of a average of 3 years between single studio albums. Still, also given Matt's enthusiam about the new material sessions currently taking place, it could very well be a great amount new Jamiroquai songs we could have in store for the Jamily's collective ears this Fall! Definitely more than 2 new songs is in the cards, my guts tell me we could see 4-6 new songs from this if all things go well ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

i personally dont think greatest hits is gonna be a double release! ... it doesnt make sense.... unless they had been writing tracks since they finished Dynamite coz they have been touring quite abit ... imagine they wouldnt have the time to record an entire album |

Double release or not. What Freaky wrote made me think... being a "musician" myself I understand why Jay doesn't want a Greatest Hits album in the first place. I also understand why he would like to sneak a new tune or two in the release... the fact is that the "greatest hit(s)" are the songs yet to be written/released. That's how most musicians look upon their work. I know I am. |

fyi - a double release and a double album aren't the same thing.
a double release would mean 2 different albums/CD's would be released separately. they would be competing with each other.
a double album would mean 2 separate CD's would be released in the same package together.
and just to throw this in there, a dual disc is one CD that has 2 different functions (CD, DVD), but it is one release and not a double album.
they could always market it as a release with an included bonus CD also. like that TWM edition. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |
