derrick and sola do it again!
derrick and sola remain two of the funkiest funksters in the universe.
i thought it was just me, but indeed: sola has come in second twice in a row for two categories (whoo! that sounded wierd) in Rhythm Magazine's Reader's Poll. For 2002, he's retained his No. 2 placing in Best Studio Percussionist and Best Live Percussionist.
dear me, i apologize for my poor knowledge but i'm not too sure about how derrick fared last year - i only know of his second-place standing for Best Funk Drummer back in 2000. anyhoo, he's back in the same place again for the same category.

yeah miranda, the awards do boost their already well-known image as an extremely reputable band, as well as remind people that there are indeed other ppl in jamiroquai apart from Jay!
i think derrick and sola currently form the backbone of the live stuff... they really pump up the sound. and their solos are astounding! |
