Live In Verona!
If you don't live in north america, this means nothing to you, but north american friends.............. I have aquired a copy of the Live in Verona Audio CD. It's just as amazing as everyone's been saying the DVD is, so I guess the DVD is 8 million times better. The songs are performed soooo well, everything sounds very clear, Jay is sounding good, and each song has a little twist to it, like a new beat or some different lyrics or something. And Jay is hilarious!! Throughout the whole thing he's really sad / mad because it's raining. My favorite part is when he talks about how his "nuts" are really cold, and he asks, "Any volunteers for waming them up? Of course that will be greatly appreciated!". And then my second favorite part is in bad girls where Jay asks in a cassanova-ish voice, "All the bad girls, all the bad girls scream" and there's only a few screams, so he's kinda down, so he asks again like a teacher getting mad at a student who answered something wrong.. but still in a cassanova-ish way "All the bad girls, all the bad girls scream", and then all the girls scream and it's cool, and then in the middle of the song Jay is like "ouuuhh" and all the girls go crazy. Yea, and then my third favorite part is in high times when Jay Announces the name of the song and says "I've got a little track here called high times. Let's face it, I've had a few of those!", I thought it was hilarious but apparently no one in the crowd did, so I felt sad for Jay. (Mmm.. seems like this post is all about Jay.. oh well). The only bad part is that each song is about 7 - 9 minutes long.. But I guess for the DVD, it's just more time for me to stare at hot Jay.. with his cold balls...ha ha ha :lol:
If anyone likes my "Review", please donate a Live In Verona DVD to me. Pretty please with a cherry on top? :roll:
Here's a freaky thing.. I got the cd exactly a year after it was performed....August 6th 2002 --> August 6th 2003.. strange..  _________________

Where did you get an audio CD of that show? I was wanting to have one for my car, because they are good recordings, but I have no idea how to do that sort of thing, and I wasn't going to buy a pirate version. ANYWAY, if you've got a fairly new computer with a DVD-ROM it may be able to play Region 2 DVDs. I picked up my copy in Edinburgh, and I have to say it's incredible. The audio is great, but the video is amazing.
Jay doesn't get a very strong reaction from the audience when he talks to them because, let's face it, they speak Italian. They might understand, but jokes are harder to find funny in a different language.
What's wrong with longer songs? I much prefer that to a short 3-4 minute song....if you find a song with a great feel, I would think you would want it to last longer than 3 or 4 minutes. That's just me, anyway.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be donating the DVD. Sorry. |
