This might seem stupid...
... to some if not most of you, but I want y'all to pray for a horse. The winner of the Kentucky Derby, Barbaro, suffered a terrible injury running in the Preakness yesterday. He was pulled up only 100 yards into the race, due to sufferring a broken hind leg in 2 spots.
I'm a horse racing fan... and the sport desperately needs a star, a hero, at least in the U.S. They had one here until yesterday. He goes in for surgery later today and his chances of survival are 50/50 at best. So a lil prayer for him would be good.
If you really want the bad visual- Here you go.

I'm sorry for the horse, but I'm against the "use" of animals for human entertainment.. |

i live near where this operation happened, and oh my gosh - it's craziness. with all the press and publicity around here, you'd think angelie jolie was having her baby at that place.
madness
i hope the horse recovers though and lives a good life... _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I'm not sure praying for an animal would help, but what we can do is to pray for the doctors to do the best surgery they can _________________

RIP BARBARO
Such a shame.
I'm sorry for the horse and sorry for you Pete, I know you are attached to the sport and in turn, the animals.

Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was euthanized Monday morning after complications from his breakdown at the Preakness last May.
"We just reached a point where it was going to be difficult for him to go on without pain," co-owner Roy Jackson said. "It was the right decision, it was the right thing to do. We said all along if there was a situation where it would become more difficult for him then it would be time."
The colt suffered a significant setback over the weekend, when surgery was required to insert two steel pins in a bone in his right rear foot. He was being treated at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa., after he broke a leg during the Preakness race.
Although the broken leg healed, the horse developed the painful and potentially deadly malady of laminitis in at least one other hoof.
KYW's Suzanne Monaghan reports that the three-year-old brown colt was beloved by fans. After the undefeated thoroughbred won the Kentucky Derby in May, there was talk of him achieving the Triple Crown. But at the start of the Preakness Stakes last May 20th, he suffered catastrophic injuries to his right hind leg.
At a press conference following Barbaro's first surgery, veterinarians were up front about Barbaro having a long road ahead:
"Horses with this type of injury are very, very susceptible to lots of other problems including infection at the site because of the severity of the injury."
His owners and veterinarians at the New Bolton Center pursued various treatment options, but his injuries proved too severe to overcome. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |
