Anyone heard of 70's funk trio Manzel?
I found this great song called Space Funk by this guy, listen

appearently their stuff had been remixed by the likes of Prince Paul and RZA for hip hop tracks. |

I've heard this tune before, on a funk show on the radio. That was years ago, though.
Don't know anything about them, but search the web. Maybe you'll find something on allmusic, amazon or wikipedia?

Yeah, I have the Kenny Dope 're-release'/remix album of 'Midnight Theme'. Apparently the original never came out? Pretty cool albums, but I still think Dexter Wansel is the king of 'space funk'. Check out 'Theme from the Planets'...great album, amazing synths and basslines. |
