Shoot the Moon?
I think Rob had said during the recording process for the Dyanamite album that they had abandoned "Shoot the Moon". Do you think there's any chance for a return of this single on the Great Hits album? I know it's not likely, but it would be fun (I don't want it to count as one of the "2 new songs" though).

shoot the moon was a good song, but i tihnk people went mad with it, in fact is a good song, and it sound so different (and maybe better) from the tihngs jami was doing in that era..but for me the song it's a bit boring and i don't think will be a good choice to include as a new track....i neither don't think they will do it....

Sola said to a contact I have on MSN -can't remember who- that they did a studio version of Shoot The Moon, after getting back the lyrics.

Like I said, I love the song, but just because it's live and has a lot of improvisation, like most of the live stuff. A studio version won't top the Montreux one.

I agree with you, Dyego.

I think we love Shoot The Moon because first this is a very good live song, and second there is another factor : the song was done only once, and I think it gives its something of mythical.

The kind of song that JK has to the bottom of his drawers, and gets out when he's in a good mood or maybe he wants to make a deep impression on us bandito

totally agree. I think STM is a great great tune, and they should leave it like that. I think I like it part because it has a "misterious" issue, you know, the fact that they didn't played it any more, and that there's no studio version. so, in my opinion, don't put it in the GH album!

by the way, I was reading the lyrics a couple of days ago (Brent transcripted them, right?), and I discovered some little mistakes; I'll post them later so you can tell my wether you agree with me or not Wink

you know, i liked shoot the moon alot but never thought they would do anything with it.

my first problem with the track (or versions i heard) was that it was pretty long. It would have taken a considerable edit to make a worthy track. I say worthy track because the the song was pretty basic. Though it was very catchy, it was quite repetitive. all imho of course.

i'd rather hear something new on the album...especially as the bass lines will be left for Paul to create..Fyffe's been and gone. Smile

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Very Happy It's pretty simple, they have a obligation to record, master and release this new song on a future Jamiroquai release, inside or outside the record industry after the Greatest Hits release Very Happy. I mean, it would only be just to give this song a second look, or at least another attempt at it, Jamiroquai should never abandon any song they compose merely due to the fact they forgot certain superficial aspects of it. That's just my thoughts, I agree with all that has been said! Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
