Greatest Hits remastered?
A question 2 all, who have listened to HT promo (or the whole album).

Have the old tracks been remastered???
I've just listened to them, and I pretty sure they have!
Space Cowboy, Cosmic Girl, Virtual Insanity - they sound a little clearer, the frequencies are well-balanced with hi-hats and cymbals sounding much better!

Or am I being totally dumb? Confused

Excellent, I really hope they boost some of the older tracks (amplitude wise), cause after listening to some old Jamiroquai then switching to newer stuff it tends to get a little loud (due to the old stuff not being mixed as high). I also want a little bit of low end and high end boost just to get a cleaner sound. Come on Sony-- I still want to believe you can make a decent product!

I haven't listened to the tracks... I just listened to the 2 new songs. I guess I'll have to pop the promo into the CD player and check this out.

I've been busy with other things really... and I didn't even think that the songs would be remastered until I read it here.

I'm listening now. Definitely remastered... I'm at Space Cowboy now. Very different... Some more punch, much clearer and pristine sound etc. It simply sounds much more modern. I'm not going to compare the songs from TWM and onwards right now. But the EOPE tracks and Space Cowboy has certainly been remastered. Good job... Although I like the old school production since it sounds to genuine, so true, so pure and coming from the heart and soul I must admit that the remastered tracks sounds much better in my ears. It's easier to hear the details without being forced to use headphones. The style of the 90's brought into the 21st century. good

Yeah, I agree with this. I deleted all the other tracks from my PC apart from Radio, because a) I have them all on CD already anyway, and b) I'm going to buy this CD anyway - so why have it taking up space on my hard drive? But if Jonas says it's remastered, I shall trust his ears!

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Very Happy Did my original topic inkling from a few years ago about Sony remastering old Jamiroquai tracks come true Very Happy? I have only heard a few of the remasters from the promo, and I must say I am astonished, "Space Cowboy" is vibrant, "Emergency On Planet Earth" has amazingly "enhanced" back percussion, and don't get me started about "TYTD" & "WYGL", let's just say I was "weak at the knees" when listening to them. Very Happy Whomever at Sony remastered these oldies really deserves alot of credit, well done job, but I'm still a bit saddened that Sony didn't remaster WHOLE ALBUMS ( Evil or Very Mad Most notably, EOPE and ROTSC! Evil or Very Mad ), instead of just "pizzazzing" a few of their oldies for this compilation. But this is a nice and respectable touch I think Sony has given this compilation, sort of a gentle "Thank you" to all the fans that have stuck with the band for all this time, Very Happy I REALLY look forward to buying this GH in early November. By the way, if you would like to read my old topic about "Remastering EOPE & ROTSC", you can see it here:

Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,

Don't worry, Brent. Give it about five years, and when they start to miss the sales the boys bring in for them - and realise that 4million+ sales of the most recent four albums means a lot of fans who don't yet have the first two - I have a feeling we'll see some reissues. I'm sure Jay won't complain about getting more royalties from them, and Sony will still own the rights to the stuff he recorded while he was with them... Wink
