What's That Tune
I had this idea of a game where I upload some tune in midi format, and you need to guess what the original song is. If you are right, you post the next tune and so on. You can find many midi files to upload on web, just use Google or some website like this one
Does anyone want to play this game?
I'm gonna start with a simple one.

If you don't want to wait for Isabel to upload a midi I've got one for you.
It's not as easy as the one "freeetz!" posted.
A) 10 points for nailing the original group and name of the tune.
B) Another 5 bonus points if you can tell me which band who borrowed the chord progression and for which song of theirs... some may say they stole it, but I'm diplomatic so I say borrowed...
Here's the midi: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=0DC3AEC5412F5D89
Maybe, just maybe I should give you a few hints...
A) I'm looking for a Japanese band here.
B) They're from the UK, you know about them for sure (there's even a connection to Jamiroquai). _________________ Old school forever! |

The answer to A) is: the group is called Casiopea and the song is called Dazzling.
I thought someone would recognize it and be able to answer B). But since no one did it I can tell you that I was thinking about The Brand New Heavies and the song You Are The Universe.
But Ce-Ce Peniston and Finally would have been a great answer too. Both have borrowed plenty from Dazzling.
I have a little something to illustrate what I'm talking about. Just ignore the difference in BPM and listen to the chord progression. Oh, and never mind the piss poor sound quality... this isn't a seriously made "remix". It's not very "dazzling", to be honest it's just a serious case of filtering freak out mania I had some 4 years ago with a Sherman Filterbank.
