JAZZ CAFÉ: Reviews, Pictures and More

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Very Happy Hehe, I know, why would Brent of all people be posting a new thread about reviews from tomorrow's "sure to be classic" London Jazz Cafe Gig Very Happy? Rolling Eyes Well, it was suggested my Meike that one of us mods, Correspondants or other team members should have the foresight to post a topic where everyone whom went to the gig, recorded the gig or experienced the gig online should post their wealth of stuff from it here Rolling Eyes . Wink So here is that topic I have almost explained out in gloriously somewhat good detail, so please, oh please, share your live pictures, videos and fan reviews, pre-gig, middle-gig, or during the gig HERE, I can't wait to read, hear, watch and experience all you have to offer after this amazing gig Wink! Thanks for listening and advance thanks to all whom share their experiences, viddies, pictures and much more from this gig! Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

P.S. Rolling Eyes If someone can grab a gig themed T-shirt for their "old buddy Brent" as a nice gift, it would be most appreciated, if you can PM me Rolling Eyes .....

AMAZING indeed.

Brass! Back to old school!!!

Tight as a pair of spandex trousers Biff Byford from Saxon wore in the 80's.

The best live rendition ever of Canned Heat.

Jay seemed to enjoy himself... A LOT.

Jay's voice hasn't sounded this clear in a long time.

To sum things up... it was like taking a time machine back to the happy times of 96/97.

(Ed will love this... I know I did.)

My thoughts... Some brass notes were the same as on the Travelling Tour Laughing

i was really amazed by it all!

especially in mind i have space cowboy with the amazing brass solo i love so much ( as e.g londno 1997 )
the best version of canned heat i think i have ever heard...

outstanding was also the great mood jay was in ...i am sure he had canned heat in his heels tonight!

i loved runaway and travelling without moving with the flute..
brass ,brass is the key to it all..they are back.
i think the venue and the atmosphaere brought the best out of what they are able to do..and i even dare to stay ..they can do it anytime again and even better...jay is done with sony ..he just wants to runaway as he said himself...to get the freedom back to do THEIR music.

omg it was THE gig.

Hello there

I'm very happy. A great mixture between the 1994/96/99 tours and the 2001/02/05 ones. PERFECT. Best version ever of Canned Heat. Nice vocal solos on If I Like It, Jay in a great mood. What can I say? This is what we wanted. Very Happy Very Happy

He obviously doesn't like playing in Sweden... listen between Space Cowboy and If I Like It I Do It. I was so excited when listening "live" so I didn't hear it first.

No wonder they haven't been back for a full gig since 1999. I'm almost ashamed to be Swedish... but I always made noise, sung the lyrics and danced. It's not my fault Jay! Laughing

This was the gig indeed. I hate myself for not taking the chance going there without a ticket. Now I'm almost convinced that I would have gotten inside... somehow. I hate this feeling. I felt better when I convinced myself that the chances of getting inside were non-existent. Now I will always wonder "what if?"...

Oh well... chatting with the Jamily while listening was really nice too. Thank God for the Internet. Wink

You really wouldn't have done, so don't feel bad! I don't, just very happy for those who were there, and hopeful for what this means for the future of the band. I've heard NONE of it so far (my mum was hogging the PC and I don't have a separate digital radio), but I'll be downloading soon and if all your comments are anything to go by it sounds incredible!

You never know. At least now I know that taking chances pays off sometimes (just look at Iñaki and Vere... it looked pretty bad for the both of them for a while although I always told Iñaki that Sola would sort it out for him). Next time I'd rather take the chance than to sit at home wondering "what if?".

Eh? Because I didn't win tickets, and I couldn't afford the time off work unless I knew I was going to get in, basically. We went over all this the other day! I'd have been there if I'd had a little more time to plan it, and if I didn't only have a few weeks of work to save some money up for my travels...
