HT Promotion in Hungary and Czech Republic by Fansites
Had a meeting with the local marketing director of Sony/BMG last evening, the topic was of course the promotion of High Times. Well, the bad news are here in Hungary, that Sony is not willing to spend any euro cent on promotion as they made huge losses with the campaign of Dynamite. Currently the band is only 5th in the row from importancy point of view behind Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Shakira. On the other hand, this is the worst time coming out with a GH as Christmas period is a peak period, the album will get lost among other new editions… We also had a chat about Jay, about the Hungarian gigs and other band-related things. So it`s really up to us (the hungarian site) to promote High Times… |

Very Dope Zsoma -
Can they atleast give you a few copies to maybe give away on the Hungarian website? Damn - they can do that right?
Or maybe you guys can run your own competitions and such?
Regardless, thanks for the update and I feel your frustration!! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

That's really nice Zsoma. Much love for what you are doing to promote the band and the new release in Hungary - admirable...and I hope that your efforts reach a few fans that may not know about this release or may not read/check the web as much.
Something came up on the newswire from Hungary and Jamiroquai this week: http://www.radio.hu/index.php?cikk_id=202909. I figured it was just announcing the release and stuff!

Let's hope your record execs are more honest than your politicians! Good effort with the promotional stuff on your part, though...

Same here - only one who want to do a promotion here in Czech Republic is me. This is why I`m on the radio tonight to promote High Times and play some tunes & mixes from the group`s 15 years history. If you want to hear me, you can tune it here (every spoken word will be in czech of course) at about 8 o`clock in the evening (CET). |

I'll listen too
I was so annoyed yesterday - I was on the tram and there are Depeche Mode GH posters all over Geneva but not one High Times poster _________________

There you can see our (85% mine as well ) playlist and if you want you can download whole show here. It`s 160MB - mp3 in 256kbps and as I said before - every spoken word was in czech of course! |
