Slipin' and Slidin' (with vocal)
Has anybody ever heard the song Slipin' and Slidin' with vocals before.
I'd really love to hear it, I think it exists (if only live).
Just checkin' if it exists before I start searching for it...

Yeah it could excist, there are lyrics on the frenchiroquai website...But I wonder though, cos I've been looking for it too, and the only version I found is the one you probably have too; the instrumental version. But if you ever find it, let us know! Wink

It does exist, and I believe there is more than one mp3 out there. I have a recording from Chicago 1997, and it's definitely worth hearing. I've never had a hard time finding it on any mainstream file-sharing program (Kazaa, Grokster, etc). You probably won't be able to find it for download on a website, but check around.

Looks like you're both fairly new to jamirotalk, so welcome!

Thanks for the welcome Freddie, though I've been looking around on this site for quite a while...it has some nice links and info sometimes! But I thought I'd just get into it myself now too...heh.

Anywayz, about this song. I guess 'Tab Radio' is looking for a studio version of Slipin' nd Slidin', like me. Cos I asumed the lyrics that Frenchiroquai provides, were taken from a studio recording. I never thought about it comming from a live version, also cos I never came across one...I use Kazaa a lot, cos its really userfriendly, compared with Winmx, which I hate for the way it works! Plus you have to wait a lot with that. But I guess I should put that on again...

Yeah
Yeah, it was Kazaa where I seen it the first time but didn't download it because of the size...
Now I want to hear it a lot.
It's the spelling!
'Slipin' 'N' Slidin' ...is that right?

Oh, and thanks for the welcome and help guys Razz

I would try searching "Slippin' and Slidin'", or just "Slippin' Slidin'," most of those search engines don't run by complete title but by each word. Try the first word with one P and two Ps, people spell things differently. Just try various things. And yes, there is more than one recording. I believe there are several.

Cheers.

:D
I took a while, but I found it!
It's really something special, definately worth downloading.
It's a live performance and it seems to be one of the first times they performed it (even though there weren't many times) since at the beginning Jay says:
"Oh, now here's a little number that ya haven't heard before"
Great song, thanks for the tip.

That vocal version of the song was played sometimes, in various concerts. If you can see, it's available on the 1996 travelling without moving tour and in early 1997 like Chicago.

The bootlegs I know to have the song are:

Royal Albert Hall 96
Flying Without Moving
Funky Forest
Galaxy
Chicago 97

And the early version of the song played in Japan on the 95, possibly to be hear on the Hey Mr Boogie bootleg, called as Mr Boogie.

I hope this can help you

Good vibes! Cool Cool Cool
