In a way, Good times form Chic is quite similar to Rappers Delight that they covered in the earlies (1993-94) |

The only Chic cover made by the group was " i want your love"
I heard this cover during the Le Mans 2003 concert. I think that was the only time they played it.
I remember that Rob had technicals problems with his guitar during this song...in fact the guitar replaced the trumpets part in the Chic original song.
Cheers

More or less - Sugarhill Gang sampled the bassline from the Chic song.

Yeah, I don't think it's some version of 'Good times', they just used the bass samples* from this song and made 'Rappers delight'. Like they used samples from 'Get up' by Vernon Burch in 'Feel so good' (AFO).
*samples... rather played it live... but you know what I mean _________________

not only the bassline......but i want to clear this thing
the original song is by chick, the most well known VERSION of this song is rappers dleight by sugarhill gang (as all the rappers they don't write a shit, just sample a song and rap on it)
jamiroquai, in his first eras use to cover this song and jay only mentions rappers delight and sugarhill gang (and grandmaster flash) so that's why it's used to be called rapers delight to the jamiroquai versions as jay never signs the original lyrics (form chick) (neither rappers deligight ones) _________________
