AFO versus AFOTP
Pretty simple question:
Which do you like the best: "A Junk Odyssey" ["Official" AFO], or "A Funkier Odyssey" [AFO test pressing]?
I picked AFOTP, obviously. |

I never heard of a TP of AFO
Can you still get this album somewhere/somehow? Does anyone have the interludes in mp3 or something? _________________ The name's Rob, just Rob |

the test pressing is way better, the order of the tracks, the extended ones, the interludes, etc..
but the bad thing is that it doesn't include love foolosophy and the lyrical version of Main Vein... but if it included those 2 it would be fantastic... |

You do know they couldn't put Lovefool on the TP because there were like... 5 versions of the song, and they couldn't choose which one to release? |

I'm not very much into AFO but the TP version is better for sure. _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

I recently had the chance to listen to AFOtp (thank you again you know who you are! ) and I'm quite unsure about which one is better. The tp has extended versions, unreleased tracks, interludes... They make it much more experimental and fresh; on the other hand, the result is a bit heterogeneous and maybe immature. In the final version we understand a little (little) better what the direction of this album is. Only 10 full tracks (although edited, and this is really bad) and 5 of these can be considered the heart of the album (I'm refering to the disco-funk ones).
So, my final decision is... AFOtp! But just because this is what Jamiroquai wanted to do. On a technical view they are on the same level (IMO). |
