BRIT AWARDS?!?!?!?!
Hi everyone, I wrote this at the JPP forum and thought I post it here as well as I just had to get this off my chest - once again the Brit Award nominations have come out and surprise surprise JMQ aren't nominated. But what really gets up my nose is that they're giving the "Outstanding Contribution to Music" to Oasis!!!!!
Now admittedly Oasis have some great songs, but what have they done lately really that has warranted them getting an award like this - why wasn't JMQ considered, they've only been pretty much constantly in the music industry for the last 14 years, and these guys (Oasis) haven't done anything good in at least 6-8 years???? Not only are they crass and do nothing but bad mouth people in the press (especially Robbie Williams), but they've got a downright arrogant attitude towards the whole music industry.
Anyway what I'm saying is that it's not like I hate Oasis, I don't, I like their music, but I would have thought that JMQ would have been more deserving of an award like this (considering they haven't won any Brit Awards, even though they've been nominated something like 15 times) and it would have been a great opportunity for the Brits to finally give them an award.
Well I'm getting off my soapbox now, but I just had to let you know how I'm feeling about it

Everything is different from point of views and from the crystal you're looking at.
For us they don't deserve it, as Oasis fans could say Jamiroquai don't deserve it either. It's an endless discussion.

This is really no surprise. I started a topic about Oasis getting this award awhile back: http://www.jamirotalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5717&highlight=brit+awards
I mean...JMQ not nominated is whatever and expected. If they didn't win at the height of their career....then I would have doubted any attention at the not so height of their career.
But Oasis? I don't even see the justification in them getting a lifetime achievement award. That's a mess. But Dyego is right with his viewpoint. It's all heard through different ears and seen through different eyes. Whatever....Congrats Oasis I suppose. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I remember, i think it was my first concert. The time of the Space Cowboy
Jamiroquai attended an MTV award show, and they had to take the plane that night to get to holland to perform the next day.
(jay was not happy about it, he told us, because he missed the after parties)
On that show oasis won and award, but did not claim it!
(they was HOT back then and just did not pick it up)
Jay got on stage to claim the award for them and " he would find a nice place for it in the toilet"
Maybe he can collect this prize too.....then that one award won't be that lonely! _________________ May you always feel the wind on your face and the waves on your toes |

That was during the TWM tour on november 15th 1996, I thought that it was a shorter gig then usual because of those Brit Awards |
