Concert Photos
Why pay loads for concert phots at record fairs when you can take your own. Just follow these tips.
1) Get as close to the front as possible. This shouldn't be too hard as most of the UK gigs are standing.
2) use 800 ASA film. It's fast, but not too fast. Pics will be sharp enough, the professionals use Fuji Xtra 800, as do I. Kodak Ultra Zoom 800 isn't quite as good.
3) Try and make do without flash, to steady the shot rest your elbows on the front barrier. If using big zoom compact cameras you'll need the flash. Security can get a bit fussy about using flash though.
4) SLR camers will be confiscated, comapct 35mm cameras with zooms are OK, Digital cameras can sometimes be a problem, best to cover the screen on the back with some tape as not to make it look so much like a digital.
5) Save a few shots until after the concert, you never know who you'll meet after the gig.
