I don't know where you can buy them but it's not too hard to make some of them (at least not the black top hat) for the synkronized feather hats i used pipe cleaners (not as good as the top hat but its not too bad) Next i'm gonna try making the spiked one from afo (not sure how yet) |

pipe-cleaners? wicked idea! do you have a picture of it? i would like to see it! maybe you can get some feathers from a decoration-store?
about the spike-head. try to form it with thick paper first, so you will figure out how to form the metal for it. or maybe you can paint the paper with silver color... it will also be much lighter than the real one... Jay motioned (right word??) at one of the concerts that the hat is really heavy.. even though, i read somewhere that the hat he is wearing at the concerts is a special version that uses aluminium instead of real silver, so it is not as heavy as the one in the pictures... _________________ Dear Auntie Em. pictures: http://rfiske.home.icq.com/profile.html (its not 100% done (still need to sew the front part on, in the picture i just stuck it on top)
when I went to the store the feathers they had weren't long enough I might try making another one sometime if i can find long enough feathers
my plan for the new hat is to use cardboard or some other stiff material and wrap it in mylar (I think thats what its called they make tinsel out of it) |

I've thought about that and probably not unless i'm sitting the the last row since they'd might block someones view, although I'd probably still take one with me. Unfortunately I doubt I'll get the chance since they dont seem to be coming to the US |

Where can I get a hat like Jay's?
Hi all!
I thought this would fit in this topic:
At David Rowe's www.funkin.net there are some infos about the hat-designers of Jay's headgear.
Check this:

P.S.: Hmmm, I think we will need smilies with hats, don't we? _________________ ~ I look up to Heaven, every star I see is mine.

Does anybody know where i could find instructions on how to make the eagle on the front of the bead band on the afo hat? (I'm going off the one jay wore at knebworth). I can probably do it without directions but I'd rather not find out I couldn't after I'm done making it |

Jay's Hats Info, and Martha Stewart!:)
Hello Everyone, :jay6:
Very cool that some fans would build their own Jamiroquai hats, I once tried too, but not enough supplies. I do remember some info about a company back during the "TWOM" years that made the black fake animal fur top hat Jam Hat! The company was called "Dowlty Designs" I believe, and they specialized in making identical copies of the Jam hat, and they came in two colors - Black and Greyish white. Bad thing is, the company stopped making and trading the Jam Hats after 98', now I guess Jay Kay has hats made either by his mum - Karen Kay OR the nearest blacksmith... ! I also heard from a friend in the biz that of all celebs that Martha Stewart is a fan of Jamiroquai! Boy, that's cool, just imagine - A Special episode of "Martha Stewart's Living Jamiroquai", featuring many Jamiroquai themed crafts, like "Handmade Buffalo Man honeysuckle candles", "Jay Kay Mad Hatter Smores", "A Funk Odyssey doormat" and many other crafts.. )! Keep up the great work guys and Peace!

the metal part is cut from a sheet of aluminum, the hard part is gonna be figuring out how to add the smaller metal pieces on the sides |
