Is Jay really happy?
Hey, I was wondering. Sure Jay has his money and writes about beautiful things and love and all that. he gets his girls and fame but judging from some of the things he says in songs like 'Picture of my life' expecially and even to a degree 'Black Capricorn Day' hes not truly happy. Like hes missing something in his life. I've read heaps of interveiws and it always talks about finding true love yadda yadda yadda. I just get the inpression that despite material possessions True happiness hasnt been acheived by the infamous JK |

Hi Simone, welcome to this Forum!!
I reall don't know if we can judge about that from our position as fans - but I must admit that I have the same impression.
I think it's a problem of many stars. It must be hard for them to find someone they can rely on because they never know if they are loved for themselves or for their being a star Maybe it's because of that that many stars fall in love with other well-known persons... I don't know - but I know that I wouldn't like to change places with any star |

Your reasons make sense, but I don't know if you can judge anything from the lyrics of his songs. We all have depressing moments, and he had one when he wrote PICTURE OF MY LIFE, but I don't think it dominates his mind. If you think about it, he didn't want AFO to end on a depressing note......That's why "FEELS SO GOOD TO BE REAL" is a secret song 30 seconds after the last track. It took me about a week to find the 11th song, but when I did it was a great surprise and joy. Maybe that's what he was going for......The little things in life (the song is the shortest of Jamiroquai's releases) can make you happy. Even the title of the 11th song makes you feel happy, and the sound is sprightly.
Cheers. |

Yeah, you're right Freddy. This song - just after the rather sad "Picture of my life" always tells me that Jay tries to see the good things in life!! (Although Toby in an interview from last year said, that Jay always thinks negative) I really can't believe that |

Re: Is Jay really happy?
Jay wants to have a wife and childre, he said that not too long ago, he sees the rest of the members, they're married and have children and he's sees himself, an almost 34 aged "single" man. I think in that way he's unhappy but we all know that making music and gigs is what keeps Jay alive and smiling. He never can say that nobody loves him 'cause we all love him more that he can think. I do, don't you?
He gives us something!
