What kind of music are Jamiroquai-Fans listening to?
What kind of music are Jamiroquai-Fans listening to – besides Jamiroquai? yeah, that's interesting... as for me, besides, I'm listening to: De-Phazz, Infected Mushroom, Astrix, Eros Ramazzotti, Nek, Touch & Go, Sting, Jose Padilla, U2, 3 Doors Down, Black & Brown, Richard Elliot, Acoustic Alchemy, Kool & The Gang, Jools Holland, Pat Appleton... if you're involved in the same music, please feel free to post.
P.S. Musicians and Bands, those I've mentiond, got there whole albums, which they've produced up-to-date
Best Regards,

Well, I listen to a lot of artists - Grant Green comes to mind first. Gotta love "Idle Moments", in fact, I'm listening to it right now! Great from start to end! I like Herbie Hancock, too, he's a great pianist, even though he's much more of a gadget fiddler right now. My favorite albums of his would be "Empyrean Isles", "Mwandishi", "Crossings", and "Headhunters". Herbie worked with Miles Davis, whose electric period spawned some great stuff! From Miles, I'd recommend "Kind of Blue" (obviously) and "On the Corner", together with his last album, "Doo-bop", which really foreshadowed the kind of acid jazz and downtempo that bands such as Thievery Corporation (check out "The Mirror Conspiracy" and "The Cosmic Game", you'll like them, trust me) and The Cinematic Orchestra ("Motion") would play. Talk about Acid Jazz, I like Incognito, too. I got three of their albums - "Tribes, Vibes + Scribes", "Positivity" and "One Hundred and Rising". The title track of "One Hundred..." always sends shivers down me. "After the Fall" from the same album is pretty great, too. Prince is one of my favorite artists, too, and he did some Incognito/Herbie-like stuff on one of his albums called "N.E.W.S", which I see as one of the most underappreciated records ever. Talk about underappreciated albums, Mike Oldfield's "Amarok" is a masterpiece. Can't foget "Tubular Bells", which is one of the most beautiful records of all time. It's not only Oldfield of the proggery musicians I like. Pink Floyd ("Meddle", "Wish you Were Here") are also great! Oh, and let's not forget "Camel" - I got to hear "Mirage" only recently, and it's an insta-loved album! They're pretty guitar-oriented. Talkin' about guitars, I like Jimi Hendrix. "Electric Ladyland" is some of the best stuff there is. Another great guitarist would be John McLaughlin. The stuff he did with the Mahavishnu Orchestra ("The Inner Mounting Flame", "From Nothingness to Eternity") is good stuff! To mind comes the Dave Brubeck Quartet, too. "Time Out", "Time Further Out", "Time In" and "Time Changes" belong to the greatest concept album series ever! Check out the epic "Elementals" from "Time Changes"! Among other artists, I like Akufen ("My Way"), Stevie Wonder ("Innervisions", "A O 2 "), Charles Mingus ("Mingus, -a, -um"), Eric Dolphy ("Out to Lunch"), The Commodores ("Hot on the Tracks"), Dexter Wansel ("Life on Mars"), Michael Mantler ("Folly Seeing all this"... Some of the most depressive stuff ever written...)... There's just too much to list... On a side note, I like listening to whole albums instead of just the most popular songs from them. |
