Prob lyrics "Stillness In Time"
Hi, I'd like to play "Stillness In Time" with my band but got problems with the lyrics (as I realised even the booklet is wrong... ). Actually this is just the outro of the CD version, can anybody check it out (I'm not English native speaker)? The question marks stand for no idea at all .
"Ouh I know them this is the ??? aside a place
There is no name for the love I have but still the same
I have to run If I don't know where I'm coming from
If I don't see the things that are inside of me
A part of me, in front of me
Oh see yet all I bear in me
Said I Know said I want to find that stillness in time,
stillness in time, hey !
Lalalala, lalalo, lalalalala,
Lalalala, lalalo, lalalalalo (x6)
Lalalala, lalalalalalala"
Thanks |

Here's my best stab at it.....it's pretty close to your version.
"Ooh, I know then this is the time I have inside a place
There is no name for the love I have but still the same
I have been wrong If I don't know where I'm coming from,
If I don't see the things that are inside of me
A part of me, in front of me
Oh, see it's all around me
Said I Know, said I want to find that stillness in time,
stillness in time, hey!
Lalalala, lalalo, lalalalala,
Lalalala, lalalo, lalalalalo (x6)
Lalalala, lalalalalalala"
Hope that's a help (someone feel free to correct my errors). BUT, if you're in a place where English isn't the primary language, I wouldn't worry about getting the lyrics exactly right.
Good luck on the cover. I imagine that's a hard one to do. Some of the vocals are pretty high. Have fun, and try to get an mp3 on the web! (I think http://www.jamiroquai.com has a section where you can put mp3s of Jam covers or original funky music.)
Cheers. |

Good song choice I suppose everyone has their own version of lyrics. I've been trying to find a live version where he sings this but I've had no luck. Here's what I think he sings:
"Ooh
I know then this is the peripheral side of bliss
There is no name for the love I have will stay the same
I have done wrong if I don't know where I'm coming from
If I don't see the things that are inside of me
A part of me
In front of me
Oh
Say it's all around me
Said I know,
Said I want to find that stillness in time, stillness in time, hey
La La La La. La La Low La La La La La.
La La La La. La La Low La La La La Low. (x6)
La La La La. La La La La La La La La
La La La La..... |

Peripheral side of bliss.....
That sounds right to me. My version was just a guess, but I think that's probably the closest, if not completely right.
I have to agree: Great song choice! I'm covering ALRIGHT with my band.....we'll see how it goes (I think it sounds pretty good, but maybe I'm biased!)

Oooh, a discussion about my favourite song and I wasn't paying attention!
I used to sing that first line as "I know that this is the perilful inside of bliss" or "... is the theory for a sadder place" (I could never make up my mind!). In a recent mailing I found out about the "... peripheral side of bliss..." lyric, which just sounds right and makes tons more sense. Another person said it was written in a Jamiroquai song book as "... peripheral sort of place...". I don't know, wouldn't it have been great if they'd just printed all the right lyrics in all the TROTSC booklet? I don't even have lyrics for Scam in mine... *tsk!*

JK has sung in a different language (for a few seconds!), when jami performed on "the lulu show" back in 92/93!
they sung "too young to die" & in the middle of the song JK sings in another language....it sounds very spanish/portuguese-like & it fitted in well with their performance! as if he just let it come out.....without rehearsing for it!
do you know what language he sings in, in that particular part in the song?:)
P.S please tell me, you know what i'm talking about? lol
have a gr888 weekend, y'all!
