News - Chillington studio update
From funkin and official site:
"The studio is being fully redecorated and revamped to make it more user friendly for doing some more writing in the summer months. Jay is really looking forward to getting in there in the summer to create some new tunes with the boys."
Hurry up!

That's what I thought! Don't do it too fast (look at Synkronized for example). Take your time and make it more than worth it |

Yes, I'm all about them taking their time. I think most of us in here have dope enough musical tastes to listen to some other lovely tunes while Jamiroquai gets it all worked out. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

What can I say Jameerica...you're soo right! And now look at TROTSC! They had only about a year to get it done and now think about what THAT sounds like... |

I honestly think that if they are inspired; a month, a year, a decade to make an album, is the same.
I don't know about TROTSC, or D, but I do know that if you are all the time, listening the same things, changing this, changing that, you loose 'objectivity' on what you're doing. You get some kind of a 'workaholic' feel.
I know that, it happened to me. Not in music terms of course, but I lost objectivity on works I've done for college, and after a short time of not having my head on that, I saw things clearly and noticed what was wrong with it. Well, I think that situation can easily be applied in here.
Being in the same environment for such a long time, with the same people listening the same, could get a little bit like that. BUT, if the sounds they are creating are good from scratch, then there's nothing to be worried about, as long as they don't f**k it up.
So, from my point of view, the time that an album deserves to be good, is completely random. It all depends on how inspired the band is, on what they want to do, what can they add as musicians to the music industry, on what they enjoy playing, on what they think is right, and not having $ony on their backs editing everything. Free minds can do better.

true...let's hope that the guys don't experience another "lack of inspiration" again _________________

I don't think you can really compare Dynamite and the return of the space of cowboy at this level. Trotsc was an evolution of eope, they took the same sound but made an album way better because the new bandmembers were better than the previous, and the original had grown. Dynamite was a fusion, successful or not that's your point of view, between their original sound and dance music, pop etc... |
