Hats get better and better DIDGIN!
Hello, :bm_r:
Please forgive my-less-than-often posting here on JamiroTalk.net, I mean to post replies to most of them, but don't have much free time recently. Great hats DIDGIN, you should a company manufacturing inexpensive Jamiroquai hats, you have a new "Dowlty Designs" on your hands ! Must take a while to build those hats, lots of thread, thimbles and sore fingers...hee hee, but the end result of hard work looks like it's worth it. Keep up the great work DIDGIN, and I hope we see a 6th album DIDGIN hat on the horizon! Peace and take care mate!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
I want a new JK wicker hat!!!!! |

I WANT that shirt - it's just my colour
Do you reckon Jay Kay takes all his unwanted clothes to charity shops when he's done with them? |

Thanks Didgin! The underneath (base) of the blades is made from some stiff card. Then I used some normal paper to make the blades 3D. After that, the whole blade is wrapped in silver foil to give it the final effect. You've got to be really careful not to crease the foil or it doesn't look as realistic as JK's hat. The blades are quite stong and dont bend when you do any 'moves' in the hat. Have a look at the diagram, I think it explains it better.
Right now i'm trying to find some black fur to make a black version of the AFO hat, and maybe try using different materials (if I can find any)
instead of card
Take Care

Hi *~jazza's funked~*!!
Sorry I didnt reply earlier, been up to my neck with work, exams&stuff like that. But all this is now over so I have lots of free time (this week i'm supposed to be on work experience, but being my lazy self i havent organised any and can enjoy the fairly nice weather we've been having in england)
Thanks for the comments about the hat! (I've already started work on a black one, got the blades and the round bit, but no black fur )

Glad to hear someone's talkin about the video again. I thought the whole idea had fallen by the wayside.
Can't wait to see the black one, mate. |
