Oh, shi-... I forgot the forums can only be viewed by members! Here's the whole thing:

Quote:
Ok, so, I'm a member of my School Council, and today, we were due to have a visitor, one Catherine Hislop, to talk on "The Unity For Future Dreams", a project that would be involving some local schools.
Turns out, that's not what they were talking about. Cause for concern there. They were apparently coming to us to get support for a project they were starting to raise awareness of human rights. They were planning talent shows, art festivals, summer fairs, and so on, and wanted our school's support. The person talking to us was rather unorganised, it seemed, but not anything too wrong.
But then, they left a DVD (Apparently for use in lessons, to teach us these human rights issues) with our deputy headmistress, who runs the school council. She was very polite while they were there, but once they had left, she alerted us to what was on this DVD case.

On the back of the box was a name. That of L. Ron Hubbard.

We've got Scientologists trying to get their DVDs shown in schools. So now, I am seriously worried they're going to try and get this into other schools, and if you see anything like this coming to your school, try and raise it with senior figures, to try and stop it.

Now, cults are trying to brainwash even children... How low can the humanity get? Evil or Very Mad

you really have sometimes paranoia...
stop to think only about the wrong things about the world! religion is a part of teaching children at school (from the german laws i think bismarc made that law) but its illegal that cults do that and dont be worried about that...
and do you think your government appreciate that cults washing the youngest brains of your country??? no my dear...

i dont know what i can say more... *

sorry, maxud, but that's a bit too easy. scientology is a sect (Sekte!) not a religion! there is quite a difference!

i do think there is a big risk in letting scientology into school classes and give them the chance to brainwash kids.

as with this german law you mentioned - not quite right. this law only says that children have to have the CHANCE to have some religious education. but if religious classes for your own religion is not available at your school, noone can force you to join another religious class (we had lots of muslin (spelling?) students at my last school but no religious classes for them. they had a free term instead. and if you are not christened you don't have to attempt any of those classes. and if your parents don't want you to attempt, you don't have to. it's not mandatory at all.

John Lennon was right... Religions ARE bad. Especially the catholic conservative fanatics. I was baptised as an orthodox christian, so does that mean that I should be chased around by the pope in his armed popemobile just because I'm what I am? Rolling Eyes

Back at humanity's dawn, religions were there to relieve people of their pain, but now, they're just money-makers for their leaders/founders... Rolling Eyes

true...
you know,i have some friends that are kinda religious(not too religious but definitely more than me) and whenever we start talking about religion we always bring up the subject of religious books.it's a fact that they were all written 1000/2000 years ago-they don't apply to today's lifestyle.so it's mad when someone tries to tell you that you're bad because you have your own theories or beliefs on certain things,or because you don't respect the rules written in it completely.in koran it says that women that have reached maturity shouldn't even expose themselves to a man's eye until they get married.even touching a man or looking at him with passion is considered fornication.in todays world that's impossible(too many hot guys out there LOL),but some people don't understand that.the other day the vehabis(which are like somekind of a sect) beat up a man in a mosque because he didn't pray the way it says in The book(which is probably because he was to old to bend all the way to the ground like it should be done).it makes you think why do we even need religion, when all it brings is more evil and hate,do we want it in our schools, some guy teaching our kids that music is devil's business(at places in koran that has also been sugested),do we want people teaching our children that their friends are bad if they're jewish, that before judgement day it will be a good deed to kill a jew(it really says so in a few places)?
and this all comes from a muslim.
it's all insane... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
