Where did you get your nickname?
Just thought of this while I was replying to Google yourself. Searched the forum for a topic like this but couldn't find one. Mouse/Meike is there is a topic like this than feel free to close it down.
Whel the titkle of this topic says it all. Where did you get your Nickname?
Some are pretty obvious but others aren't and I'm curious to the stories behind the nicknames.
I'll start with mine
My last name is van der Does and during a classic game of Bomberman, in which you can get a 'disease' in which you poop bombs (along with the farting sounds) and sometimes you'd hear a voice in the game shouting 'here comes the poopman'. A friend of mine turned that in my case in to the Doesman and the rest is history ... I even got a paddock pass with that name on it after my boss accidently passed that name through so it's getting official |

Well, my name's Sam, so when I was trying to think of a name to use on the Jamiroquai forums it just sort of wrote itself, really...

..my nick has not a so original origin.. it's simply Gianluca (my real name) with the 'J' for Jamiroquai and 'Luka' from Suzanne Vega's 'My Name Is Luka' track.. _________________

Mine is simple as well... MANU stands for Manchester United (i'm really big fan) and DEVIL is because they are clled redDEVILs ...that's it.... unfortunaly nothing to do with Jamiroquai!!! |

When I started my studies (Polish philology) we had to learn some very difficult extinct language 'old-church-slavic'. 'Czendo' is a word from this language and it means 'a child' My friends started to call me this way and I liked it It sounds pleasantly in Polish (pronounce it like "chen-do") and you can make various mixes with it's short, like : cze-reśnia (=che-rry), cze-kolada (=cho-colate) and like that _________________

Since I know Stephan (which is about 13 years meanwhile!! ) we called each other "Mouse" and "Bear".
It's just two nicknames that descibe a bit our appearances in one word... Stephan the chubby, cuddly, confident bear.. and Meike the dinky, quietly, mousy mouse.
I have to add that in German "Mouse" is feminine, and "Bear" masculine.
When we got into the Jamiroquai online scene we needed nicknames for the official forum (J.Talk) and we just added a cosmic to it: CosmicMouse and CosmicBear were born. Not really original, but still...
People always thought we are married or a couple, because of our names - which is rumour of course!!!
Also, some people thought I am a boy... maybe because in other languages the word "mouse" is associating a male character...

Mouse forgot something about my nickname:
The morning before we went to see Jamiroquai live in Berlin in 2001, Mouse sent me a textmessage with a quote from 'Alright'. Something like
'let's spend the night together, wake up and dance forever' and i replied with 'I'm just a CosmicBear from another galaxy'. And the name CosmicBear kinda got stuck after that HEHE
But she's right about the rest - she's always been mouse, i've always been bear |

Saffy - the name of my beautiful horse. She has been with me since I was 9 (that's 11 years!) and she means the world to me.
7 - my lucky number!
