Tracks you love but never used too??
This one sort follows on Guly's topic.

After listening to my ipod a lot recently, going through the Jamiroquai section on there ive recently listened to the albums through a few time recently. And after this ive become to like a few tracks a lot more than i used to. So as the topic title suggests which songs do you love now which you overlooked at first. So lets kick things off

EOPE - Blow Your Mind
ROTSC - Light Years
TWM - You Are My Love
SYNK - Where do we go from here
AFO - Mein Vien - so disco funk!
DYNA - Love Blind

and if High times counts? only a choice of 2 - RADIO

EOPE - Blow My Mind
TROTSC - Light Years
TWM - You Are My Love
SYNK- Destitute Illusions
AFO - Stop Don't Panic
DYNA - I guess Starchild. I pretty much like and dislike the same songs as when I first listened to the album, though.

My choices
EOPE - Blow Your Mind
RORSC - Morning Glory
TWM - You Are My Love
SYNK - Butterfly (mine and my girlfriends song!)
AFO - Picture of My Life
DYN - Time Won't Wait

I didn't think Blow Your Mind was anything special back when I was 11 (9 years ago lol) but now I hear its brilliance. The same with Morning Glory. You Are My Love makes me think of girlfriend and because of her, Butterfly is now one of my all time favourite JMQ songs now! Picture of My Life is a song thats grown on me over time. Time Won't Wait didn't hit me initially when I heard Dynamite but now I adore it!

I don't believe it! I was going to start this topic, but then I went on Easter holiday. I come back, and someone has done it for me!

EoPE: If I Like It I Do It - (Dunno why, but when it started, I had to skip it - now I love it! Especially Stu's bass going up and down the notes.)

tRotSC: Light Years (I really hated it at first - now it's ok. Good live versions out there)

TWM: Funktion. (Also Travelling without moving - I used to think it was just ok, now it is one of my faves - again due to Stu, but also Derrick's awesome drumming!)

Synk: Where do we go from here? (That intro still annoys me, but when song gets going it's not bad at all)

aFO: Little L (It took a few listens)

Dynamite: Dynamite (Actually, I did quite like it at first, but after a few listens, it became a real fave)

Ha ha sorry about that!

People seem to say Where do we go from here from Synk and Light Years a bit

Just few comments about both tracks

Light Years - for me at first it was to slow paced for me, but i really digged the break when it seems to lift your mood when you can really here the bass, and the sax comes through quite clearly. Only thing that slightly annoys me about the song is the " De De De De " (a Technical term Smile ) is th best way to describe it which is played before the chorus

Where do we go from here - i can understand the intro problems, but i really like the sax in it! But most of all i love its upbeatness, and the Rob Harris-like guitar playing, then the sudden stop is ace!
Is there a live a version of this? ive never heard one and would love to hear it?

cheers

Yes, excellent topic GoodVibeZone...

You said 'You Are My Love' was a track you at first disliked....I thought it was ok, however for me, again, I didn't like the intro... The rest of the song is nice - especially the chorus and the ending.

Another song from that album that I liked parts of it, and disliked other parts was 'Use the force' - but now, they play an updated version when they play live, and I think it sounds fantastic. Plus the new version now suits its title - 'Use the force', where on the album version, there was nothing forceful or motivational apart from the lyrics...

'Where do we go from here', would sound great live, don't know why they didn't do this one live.

I'd say I always liked all the tracks. My appreciation of them has changed with time, but I like all of them I think.
So...

Emergency: -
Space Cowboy: -
Travelling: -
Synkronized: I don't have it Embarassed
Funk Odyssey: Twenty Zero One (still one of my least favourites tbh)
Dynamite: Feels Just Like It Should and Dynamite
High Times: Radio

I recently started liking 'Twenty Zero One'. I guess time and life experiences (often, the negative ones) open up you up to a track filled with angst. I think I understand it a lot more now than I did a few years ago, that's for sure.

Other than that, a lot of the Space Cowboy album was inaccessible to me for a long time, but now it's my favorite album.
