"Reverse" "engineered": Revolution 1993
Yep, the good ol' me's struck gold this time. I don't wanna talk about why I did it, but I started analysing the "zip" noise that comes up at 9:22 in the song, strecthing it by 99.99%, and playing it. What I got is a really weird, lo-freq drumroll-esque sound.

Posted image has been reduced in size. Size of original image (60794 KB) is 1280 x 297 pixels. Click image to view full size and better quality!

What's interesting with this is that the right channel's zipping comes only a split second earlier to the left one's. 'T'would be nothing big, if one ignored a very, very, very important fact: The right channel 'entrance' to a jack plug is at the very tip of the jack, and as I mentioned, the "right" zip/tick predates the "left" zip/tick by a very slight time interval. Conclusion: Revolution 1993 was "jacked off" (Laughing) in the late stages of production, probably during either the mixing, or even worse, the mastering process. I think it pretty much went like this:

Bob: Hey, Joe, come here, this thing's fucking up the recording...

Joe: ...

Bob: Why you standin' there man?; Do something while I clean this mess up!

"Joe" then detached the jack plug from the digital output, what resulted in a slight electric discharge between the plug and the socket, rendering the "zip/tick" noise I described, and inserting it into the recording. Something even more interesting is that the slowed down noise sounds like a damm hot psy-funk drumroll. Cool

Now, what I think is the cause of this is the fact that the computer processing the sound couldn't handle a file as large as Revolution 1993 (10 minutes of uncompressed sound on a stone[d]-age apparatus), and went all ga-ga. That can also explain another 'enviromental factor' of the studio: the damage was inflicted after the mastering process, while the mastered recording was transferred to the then-becoming-master-tape tape.

EDIT: I'd also like to add something else, in this case the fact that the computer from which the data was streaming to the magnetophone containing the master tape did not 'unload' previously played songs from its RAM. Pretty obvious, once you figure it out...

Knjaz... that's the most wacky explanation for this I've ever read! LOL Ok, the only one actually.
I always wondered what the hell was this. And now, my friend, you have sort-of figured it out! I just tried to reproduce myself what you're saying (slowed it down 99%, and then) but I didn't really get any interesting results, only a weird noise.
I never tried to figure out what this was, not at this depth. Plus I always focused on the rest. This is digital corruption, so I guess you're right. Maybe the computer hung up? Mind that we're talking about 1992, I doubt they had anything better than a 486!
Anyway, I once tried to "fix" the rest, but I gave up in little time, in sight that I would have to analyze every "chunk" of sound and then think enough to re-paste it together so it sounded right. So my biggest job was just cutting off the "broken" half of Didgin' Out Laughing
Grats for being the best audio detective of Jamirotalk! LOL

you know the stuff you use to plug in headphones or speakers to your computer?the stuff on the end of the cable?that's called a jack...so what he wanted to say is that someone pulled the jack out of the computer...get it?

knjaz,

you know what i think about themes like that
its interesting to hear whats "on the other side of a track"
but at the end i think theres nothing we should mention so much.
something like in another story pt1. when we play it backwards we hear "srceams of my life" very clearly.

should we mention every frequency we hear?
is jay such a perfectionist?

i dont think so...
the true message of a song we can hear on cds or on our mp3-player.
