Haven't seen THIS picky subject being talked about here...
You know what I mean, all the stuff that's been happenning behind the scenes since the beginning of the $ony days, what includes, but is not limited to Stu's and Wallis' so-called quitting, AFOTP, the band's complete lack of creative control over their own works, Symphonized, etc.... |

Are you serious?
It's talked about all the time in various threads.
I believe you even started one back in the day about Wallis.
If you check in the bandmembers section, I'm sure you'll find a few threads on Stuarts departure.
The creative control has also been discussed at length as well as Sony.
It may not get active attention right now, but it's been talked about at length many times. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

But where exactly? All I see is a few comments on it all here and there, nothing the subject really deserves. And now that you mention it, yeah, I'm trying to re-light the 'fire' of not just the Wallis topic I posted, but the fires of many other similar topics up. Topics penetrating this deep behind the scenes never live a long life. It's just true. |

Where? In various topics. I see you want one place to talk about it.
There's just so many times I can talk about Wallis, Stu and Sony.
I'm over it.
Good Luck with your discussion. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

yep, you're right Deesha!
we talked all we could about it...
and i can say it cos i'm the biggest defender of the old band and i and we have talked ALL about the new and the old Jamiroquai here!!
there's nothing about Jamiroquai that hasn't been talked until now.
the thing is that some discussions ended and they're out to date... but there you can find them.. _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

I never talked of this subject ...oh yes I did with Fra and Ale but not on here!
Everyboby always talk about Stu and Wallis, I'm sorry they left the band ( well... I think x Stu was the only solution) but I'm sorry as human being not as a fan...understanding nothing of music I can't say the difference between 2 players all I can say is that I like Paul as I liked Stu.
do you know who I really miss? Toby.
I remeber him in a gig here in Turin 10 y. ago, they were really esy, hanging around the park to see the other bands and all of a sudden Toby cam on stage and started to ...tune (?) his keybord.
I was probably the only person who did reconnaized him everybody were talking about this young technician so I went close and I whispered:" can I say loud who you are so they will watch you in a different way?" ( I was like hey fu*k he's Toby) he came close and told me :" no please they gonna find it out in half an hour and then we'll have fun to see theyre faces!" ahahahah
an easy sweet boy that's what I felt!
It was nice to see his curly hairs around...with no DIVA bahavior just easy and happy!
So I miss him and that's nothing against Matt...also 'cause I don't know him so is impossible to have an opinion after a Hi nice to see you here and there!
and NO I was not attracted by Toby...just appreciating the person!

Yep i Agree, Toby was an essential part of JMQ and its sad now hes gone. I do often wonder why Nick Van Gelder left in the early days. I suppose people have things to do in their lives. I hope there was nothing sinister behind his departure. I think derrick is realy the true JMQ drummer, but Nick had some nice gigs.
As for Stu... well its mostly been said. In my honest opinion JMQ would have had far greater success had he stayed in the band, they would have achieved the success that Sony gambled on. I think that JMQ would have been able to get away with Synkronised, but they really needed a puchy album with AFO and I don't think it was delivered. Dynamite strayed even further away. I do hope that the 7th album will be a return to acid jazz and the old funk. And I really want the full version of Midnight funk |

Stuart Zender in an interview said:

Nick already had the gig with Jamiroquai at that point?
"Yes, Jay really liked his playing because he was quite a solid drummer compared to what he was used to; I guess he was used to drum machines before Nick. But our ideas moved on and Nick's didn't. He's very talented but we couldn't really communicate with him. It got to the stage when there was nothing there. It was a breath of fresh air when Derrick (McKenzie) came in. With Derrick's attitude in the band we've all got a better working relationship with each other, it's all growing. It's not necessarily Nick's fault that it didn't get like that, it's just timing. Three bloody years of not holding on to a speeding bullet," laughs Stuart. |

I remember Jay said that Wallis wasn't in AFO cause the style of the album didn't match the didgeridoo kind of songs.
I mean, at the end there isn't much to talk about. The band got bigger (in terms of success) and money talks, and Sony wants to make money, not good music. Jay does want to make good music, he doesn't like to put filler tracks there, and you can tell that. Most of the songs in every album could all easily be singles.

No more to say. I think that most of us know this story.
I´m gonna take for me what Stu said once..."My loyalty is to Jamiroquai" |

Do you really think that? Music and "lifethoughts" are on a similar way...
If someone create it, I'll support the topic. |
