WICKED WHISPERS BOOK, JAY IS MENTIONED
Hi everyone, I found this article where Jay is mentioned, I presume she was/is a journalist for The Mirror's 3AM girls, and has now written a book about her life as a journo...
WICKED WHISPERS
by Jessica Callan (Michael Joseph £16.99) 5/5
By Henry Sutton 13/07/2007
SHE was the posh one in the tight skirt with the loudest laugh, except when she was telling someone to f*** off. She was the one who’d quietly slip into the best parties and then drink everyone else under the table.
She was also the one who’d invariably have to zip a naked Jordan into her catsuit and fend off a string of men such as Dwight Yorke, James Nesbitt, Jay Kay (repeatedly), Jean-Christophe Novelli, Duncan from Blue and Guy Ritchie.
Sounds like a tough life being one of the original Daily Mirror 3am girls.

After only a few pages of Callan’s extraordinarily candid and hilarious memoir of her time as a gossip queen, I felt utterly exhausted. But then, thankfully, I’m a 10pm bloke.
Her talent at eking out the juiciest stories from the world’s biggest celebrities in toilets, hotel bedrooms and taxis spoke for itself in countless, highly revealing exclusives over the five years Jessica spent in the post.
And, presuming she’s telling the truth, only once did she succumb to the physical charms of a celeb, in the form of Teddy Sheringham.
Her lengthy tongue sandwich with the former England striker is one of the book’s highlights, and one of Jessica’s low points. Other notable moments include her spats with Mel C, Daley Thompson and Hugh Grant, who actually goosed her.
But at least he didn’t offer to show her his “log”, as Jay Kay had, or invite her back to his yacht for a threesome, as Dwight Yorke had, or, as James Nesbitt did, demand to watch her pee.
Indeed, as Jessica and her colleagues proved, it’s the enemies you pick rather than the friends you make that lie at the heart of a good gossip column. And, boy, were there some sulky, spoilt super-egos out there. Noel Gallagher, Jude Law, Angus Deayton, Bruce Willis... how can you live with yourselves?
Of course, the real star to emerge from all this was Callan. Not only did the 3am girls change the way showbusiness was reported, but Jessica also manages, here, to create a personal and very compelling narrative.
The Sheringham snog aside, her love life suffered terribly as, presumably, did her liver. No wonder she decided to jack it in after five years. But something tells me she’ll never truly escape the celebrity circus. It’s in her blood.
