mr moon
emergency on planet earth
Hooked up
when you're gonna learn (live version)
Alright
Don't give hate a chance (yeah the lyrics are corny, but the session bassist killed this track)

I pretty much like every bassline coming from Jamiroquai . The best ones are on the first three albums though

Though not the best basslines, but my fav basslines right now are:

1. Scam
2. Runaway
3. Too Young To Die

Did you notice many people don't know there is a bassline - a different melody than Jay singing - in all songs?

Um nice topic! This should be in 'jam's music' section Smile

Let me think, my favorite basslines are in:

'Scam'
'Space Cowboy'
'Runaway'
'High Times'
'Too Young To Die'

I'll have to think more!

D!

As a bass player myself, I am struggling to accept that this topic has not been discussed before! Jamiroquai (and Mark King of Level 42!) are the reason I picked up a bass! I personally view the bass as a fundamental part of Jamiroquai's music.

Anyway my top basslines (this is very hard and is always subject to alteration!):

1) - Traveling Without Moving (especially live!)
2) - Runaway
3) - Scam
4) - Mr Moon
5) - Too Young to Die

I could go on!

I can play virtually every JMQ bassline although not prefectly note for note! I prefer to learn the basic chords and fills and then play about myself rather then play along note for note!

I wish I was in a band but I just don't have time i'm afraid!

A final point is that based on Paul Turner's playing on Runaway and Radio plus his magnificent performances live since joining the band, I am expecting some killer basslines on the new JMQ stuff Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
