Hilary McRae
Found out about this chick from the Boston Globe's music blogs. She's a 21-year-old from Florida that graduated from the Berklee College of Music here in Boston. If I could describe her music, I'd have to say something along the lines of Joss Stone with more piano, but her voice is less smoky than Stone's is. She just got signed to Starbucks' Hear Music label -- home of James Taylor and Paul McCartney -- as their first 'development artist.'
I think she's pretty good. Listened to a lot of Chicago, Stevie and EWF when she was younger, and it shows. You can check her out at HilaryMcRae.com and click on Music to hear three of her tracks. Her album comes out in the spring.
