Virtual Insanity - lyrics and video
What is the song Virtual Insanity about? Is it about the hopelessness of the manic world we live in today? etc etc and also (and perhaps more importantly) What is the video all about? Does it represent a padded cell (usually allocated the the insane) Why is it all white? Do "unreal" things happen in the video to confirm that we are living in an "insane" world where people can choose, for example, the colour of their baby? A world of atomic bombs and despair?
My son is doing Media Studies for GCSE (a 16+ academic exam in England) and as part of the course he is asked to comment on the video and what it represents. Any information/feedback you are able to give would be gratefully appreciated. |

well, i really dont have iudea what the video means, but im enough sure to say that the song show how hopeless we are on this days(yeah, the song is from 19967 and still sounds as the truth)and many shit we have around as the wars, poverty, the electronics used just to kill ourselves...so, the song is a real anthem to me for the times when i wanna sing about how insane the world it is now.
so, the song is about a insane world that we are livin'in. _________________ Only a fool can walk away from me this time

Imo the video just shows a virtual insanity. We don't know how he's doing all these things (well, except if you have seen the making of ).
He basically represents humankind, since over time we've been able to develop extraordinary technologies, and we're now able to do many things wich were impossible to do 50 years ago.
However like Jay Kay says in the song, we're still unable to live a proper life, and we have misused the knowledge that was supposed to help the whole world, and not just a part of our society. |
