A JAMIRO-RANT!
Just had to get this off me chest! Was having a conversation with a secretary i work with yesterday who, from out of the blue, suggested that I'm obsessed with Jamiroquai & that HE, (HE!?GRRRRR),is all i listen to...WRONG!
The thing that really got my goat though was the fact that she was so right in thinking that all Jamiroquai songs sound the same...what?So summat like 'Manifest Destiny' sounds just like 'Deeper Underground' does it?WELL?Does it?!
GRRRR...she went on to say that once you've heard one 'Quai track, you've heard them all....she even had the nerve to say that Oasis were unique & that i wouldn't understand where she was coming from being a Jamiroquai fan & everything!
So i put this to you fellow Quai fans, why don't people GET Jamiroquai??

Everyone has their own taste though, this poor woman obviously doesnt appreciate Jamiroquai's individual sound.

I have these little rants in my head from time to time, but I've given up trying to explain it all out loud, it just falls on deaf ears...

yeah!
yes! I also had an old friend which turned round to me and basically said this! i was sooo upset,She only had the nerve to do it over MSN!

I think that Jamiroquai fans listen tot the music all the time due to how it can vary...as you say, manifest destiny is defiantly different to Deeper Underground, and Feels just like it Should is different to Mr.Moon! I barely notice unless i think about I've had several tracks after one another!

Who cares about that guy in oasis? I barely understand what he's saying when he speaks! LOL

I can see where she might be coming from.

What i mean is this, as any musician will tell you there are only 12 major notes in a musical scale, this means that you will have to play something that sounds kinda the same as something else, it is inevitable this will happen.

But to call oasis unique ??? has she never heard the beatles ? even their hair cuts are the same..........

I didnt always like Jamiroquai, in fact i hated them and up until february refused to listen to anything earlier then deeper underground, I had to start listening to the earlier stuff because the audiences I paly to demanded it and except for the little samples or licks lifted from george clinton i now love it all and in particular Scam Smile

this girl at your work has blinkers on and really isnt worth arguing with. Let her think she is right but just tell her to wait for the new album before making judgement Wink

Why you presume that EVERYONE should know JMQ and listen to their music or clearly understand it and if they don't - then they are crazy/mad/poor-minded etc?
Everybody's got their own opinion regarding music and choses him/her-self what to listen to and you can't make anyone to listen to the music you like.
And if no one really didn't get JMQ then there'd be no Jamily Razz
I think you should accept that there are lots of music styles and those who're into some sort of music like punk won't accept JMQ (though there are exceptions).
