Pooch paparazzo a huge hit with the stars Pooch paparazzo a huge hit with the stars As a child, Mia Feinstein used to take happy snaps of the family dog. Almost two decades later, she is the “pooch paparazzo” and has photographed dogs belonging to celebrities including Elizabeth Hurley and Jamiroquai lead singer Jason “Jay” Kay. Feinstein, 30, who emigrated to the UK 14 years ago, launched her career last year after a chance meeting with Jay Kay at a shop near her house in London. She asked him if she could photograph his dog. “He agreed and I went to his house in the country and photographed Titan, his German shepherd,” she said. Jay Kay loves hats and was keen to use them as props in the shoot. “On the train home, I almost couldn’t believe it had happened to me. It’s surreal, to be from South Africa and sitting at a celebrity’s house.” Feinstein then photographed Hurley’s two chocolate Labradors at the star’s home. “It was shortly before her marriage (to Arun Nayar) last year. Arun and her son Damian helped me. I did a picture of the two of them with the dogs.” Feinstein also snapped actor Simon Pegg’s schnauzer, Minnie. Pegg stars in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, a comedy currently on in South Africa. Both Hurley and Pegg endorsed Feinstein’s books. “Mia’s pictures are as good as Andy (Wa rhol’s) Marilyns, Maos and Soup Cans — only 9-million cheaper,” Hurley wrote.
