Isaac Hayes (1942 - 2008)
US singer-songwriter Isaac Hayes has died at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 65, police said Crying or Very sad .

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7552986.stm

Isaac Hayes - along with Al Green, James Brown and Stevie Wonder - was one of the dominant black artists of the early 1970s.
He was a hero of mine, Never Can Say Goodbye and Shaft Theme will always be remembered as two of his masterpieces. We'll miss you, Chef Crying or Very sad !

It's true. First Brown, then Zawinul, now Hayes? It's not like I ever had the chance to listen to him, but this is just depressive. All the great artists are dying these days, and nobody is giving a shit about that, let alone someone giving a shit about the equally-talented people of today who are ready to continue the previous generation's work... Decently, not in the vein of bland pop-rap or even blander indie-rock/pop. Sad
